so lately my stage one vino is acting up... it feels like it's running fine, as far as i can tell, but when i go about 1/4 throttle or so, to about 2/3 throttle, it makes this really loud, really low revving sound, on top of the regular motor sound, then when i accelerate out of this noisy spot, it stops, and sometimes, not often, but sometiems when i slow back down again the noise comes back in as i hit the spot again, though usually it's just while accelerating, so i try to drive either full throttle or pretty low throttle, to avoid it, but i have no idea what it is... it just sounds pretty bad, pretty loud and you can feel it rumble a bit... someone please shed some light on this if you can, thanks.

Don't mean to scare you, but it could be your variator. Mine did that same thing. It turned out to be a vibration on the finned part of the vario due to it not being tight enough. It eventually stripped out the threads on the crank. I had to geg it redied and the splines cleaned out.

I'm by far not an expert on the workings of it, but that's what happened to me. If your variator has any play, it WILL get worse with time, so see about it now.
