View Full Version : New Stock Zuma, How Do I Go Faster?

Hello,
I have just purchased a brand new stock 05 Zuma. It's great, but I find that I am unable to keep up with traffic in some situations. Are there any simple, inexpensive mods that I can do to give me a little more on the top end. I do not need to do any burnouts at take offs, just need some more top end to give me a few more MPH without spending a ton of $$$. I have read a little about a new CDI unit but I really dont know if that will help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

CDi will not do anything for a stock motor...

A pipe, cylinder, variator, carb... to start... this will get to about 50mph... or so... on a zuma...

I'd recommend a stage 2 kit from provo's sale page. A stage 1 won't do much for you.

Just my thoughts anyway...


there are really no free speed mods on a zuma... besides loose 50 pounds... the less the engine has to push, the more it will go...

other than that... you're gonna have to spend some cash... and a stage 2 should be a start...

what kind of speeds are you looking for?

i agree, there is no free speed. The least is get the stage 1. It will give you more mph, around 47mph. Other than that, i counld not think of anything else that will do.

if you bike has restrictions then take them off, and get a taller gear. it doesnt have to be the tallest gear, just something in the middle.

out here where i live 99% of all 50cc scooters are restricted to 35mph or less to get moped stickers.

Does your sticker fall off when you go 36 mph or faster?

What's a cop gonna do? submit a piece of paper?
