I know it's a dumb question, but why do people swap the Metro and Ruckus motors with GY6, Chinese motors, and not just put like a Honda dirt bike motor in there? I don't know if it'd even work, but with all the modification to put in a GY6, you'd think it'd be more common. Just curious to see responses.

If it's the whole motor (cylinder & crankcase); there's the major difference of an automatic transmission vs. a manual since the transmission is an integral part of the crankcase. If it just the top end; it might be the bolt pattern; intake & exhaust layout & whether it's a vertical cylinder vs a horizontal.
for most scooters; the engine is part of the swing arm while in motorcycles the engine is part of the frame with a separate swingarm.

There was a guy in California (I think) who did a swap with a dirt bike on a Ruck. He put the engine on the floor board/gas tank spot. I think the bike was a Kawasaki.

First off GY6 motors being put into ruckus are not all that intesive at all. A couple of mounts and its done more or less.

It just seems like everyone who does the GY6 ends up dropping a couple grand on the swap with a top speed of around 60mph. I guess it's the cost/speed ratio that throws me off. I guess I didn't really think of how the two motors/tranny's mounting differed.....good call.

The scooter engine is integral with the swingarm. The process involved to install a MC engine into a scooter is so intensive, it's not worth it, except to be different. Every swap I have seen pictures of puts the motor in the floorboard area, and looks ugly as sin.
