Whats up everybody? First post, here goes.
I have a 2002 Honda Metropolitan II. I upgraded the Variator to a Met I, cut the Carb spring to Met I spec, and removed the washer from the intake, but I still want some more speed (and maybe some torque if there's a way to get more of that). I was wondering if anyone familiar enough with that model could chime in on whether or not this CDI unit would work:
It seems like a really cheap alternative to some of the other CDI units out there. I just didn't want to throw $40 down the toilet if it's not going to work with the Met II.
Any input is appreciated.

GBisk1 - The link you put has been removed as it violates the terms of use. As for your question you would be better off upgrading your variator before you jump into upgrading your CDI. People have had great results with this one - Malossi Multivar Variator - Honda (http://www.provoscooter.com/scooters/malossi-multivar-variator-honda.html)

fellow G,
My apologies on the link. Thanks for the info on the variator, but the reason I was asking about the CDI is because I have a Met II which is the weak one. It kills RPMs even down hill (feels like you could go over the bars going down a hill), and tops out at ~28 going down even the steepest of hills. I was hoping that someone had some info on that CDI just cause it was priced really cheap.
Would that variator increase low end power or pickup at all?

Yes it would! gbisk1 a variator will even out your rpms and give you better take off and a little bit more top speed and depending on the weight it will do more of one thing and less of the other but its a cheap efficient upgrade

Perhaps there is someone else here that knows a bit more than I about the differences between the met I and II and be able to shed some light on the difference between the two CDI's

Several years ago while living in Florida I had an opportunity to buy a Honda Helix. Let me begin by saying that this is a sleek looking machine. Much like my mother's Cadillac with Northstar and all other featured bells and whistles.

CDI's are often discussed but not a lot of information about them. My first place to check on the CDI would be a Honda scooter dealer or service rep. The CDI should be the last mod you do. To increase speed or torque you have to do some modification to the variator/clutch, etc, or increase HP. A CDI will do neither.
