Ok so first off thank you everyone for helping me out on all my questions!

I finished the variator de-reg yesterday and this evening i tackled the exhaust pipe de-reg. I decided to drill through the three weld spots and then use a screwdriver to muscle/pry the piece out. It wasnt the smartest or cleanest way it could have been done but it did work, after struggling with it for about 1/2 hour. One problem though is i managed to put a small hole through the pipe itself. On the end that attaches to the manifold. The hole is very tiny! ;no But im wondering is this going to mess anything up? Obviously i need to find a way to patch it or fill it and i think i can weld something in it or fill it somehow, just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. How badly is this going to effect my scooter. Should i not run it until its patched/filled? I started it up this evening when i was all done and its pretty loud, due to the hole i assume. I just had to take it for spin, so i did, and its much faster now :yippy:

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO???!

backpressure if very important on 2 strokes. I personaly would either buy an aftermarket pipe, or have the stock one welded. I also would not ride it much until you do. ;no o_o

ok so do you think i could have messed it up from riding it this evening after i did the work and attached it back on with the hole?

How do you suppose i fill the whole...like i said its small so just a drop of metal in there would fill it no problem.

ya sicko :)

Sorry no pics right now, its dark and my scoot is outside(no garage). I would say its half a centimeter or smaller.

putting a small weld on there would probably be best, but i bet you can get away by using a JB weld, that 2 part glue.. its not epoxy... as for the temp.. im not sure if it will stay at high temp.. but if you dont have a welder then i would try it...

any auto parts store sells them for couple of bux.

Half a centimeter is pretty big! JB weld tends to loosen up in extreme heat.

Congratulations at sticking with it and getting the deregulation done! It sounds like it's been a hassle for you, but you've learned more about your scooter and it runs better too! The more you learn the easier it gets.

You don't have anything to lose by trying JB Weld. Sand the perimeter of the hole to get a good bond. I have my doubts that it will last long term though.

A weld will fix you up permanently, and will be very quick and easy for someone with a welder to do. I'd reccomend a small shop that does car or motorcycle or muffler or sheet metal or steel fabrication or small engine work. If you ride it up to a small shop the guys will probably do it for free. A big busy shop won't want to deal with it.

You can get some high temperature black spray paint at an auto parts store to touch up the repair if the appearance concerns you.

Hang in there!
