This is the Airsal aluminum race cylinder. This is the ultimate marriage of price and performance. The piston is of single ring design, to eliminate friction and drag. The properties of aluminum allow for faster cooling and longer cylinder life over cast iron.

It is cast from an aircraft quailty T-6 aluminum, then the cylinder is coated with a Nikasil lining. Nikasil coating is a nickel and silicon carbide matrix and is very hard, but it is comparatively ductile. Dispersed through the nickel are particles of silicon carbide less than 4 microns in size. Beside providing a very long wearing surface for the piston and rings, the silicon carbide particles also contribute to longer engine life by ensuring good cylinder lubrication.

It will produce increased torque when installed with the stock pipe (alt. Stage 1).

When installed with a Tecnigas pipe, Arreche carb and Tecnomoto variator (Stage 2 (http://www.provoscooter.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=65)) it has a 55-60mph top speed and break-neck acceleration. If installed with an expansion chamber pipe, you must upgrade the carb to ensure reliability.
