I have a 2004 People 150 that I just blew up. The engine has KHB4-0000 cast into the engine and the serial number is BA30-2001165. Is this a GY6 engine? I need to replace the top end what are my options?

Thanks.

Like harry says. the People 150 uses the GY6 engine. There are tons of parts out there for it, given that its probably the most commonly used engine in scooter production right now.

Cool, thanks a lot guys.

As soon as I get a flywheel puller so I can make sure I didn't trash the crank, I'll start the rebuild.

most likely just a new top end (I Trashed the old one) I May go up to a big bore kit but probably not much more. Already have a gianelli pipe.

Sounds good. Looks like the tear-down went well. Let us know if you need any guidance when it comes to putting it back together.

I went with a 62 mm kit by NCY. I have to bore out the cases a little but it's going well so far. Might as well replace the rollers while since I had take the Variator off. Anyone know the stock weight? I may go a little lighter but not much.

After sitting in the shop for nine months I finally got back to putting the new top end on my Kymco People 150. I ended up having to clean the valves up too but now shes running like a top. Do I need to do anything carb wise since I increased the displacement (150 to 170ish)?
