Well since my post got locked again I guess I'll try to continue on with this thread...

I understand that beefing up a 50cc scooter with a 70cc kit and whatnot will effect it's realibility. If a person of my size (6' 250 pounds) wanted to be able to get up to 45mph without being worried about "that car on your butt" just how large of a cc scooter should I be looking at?

And mr. moderator please don't lock this thread down. I havent been a pain in the butt yet :yippy: :naught:

If you got a 70cc kit and all the other goodies you would go 45+.

If not go with somthing over a 100cc's and you will be very happy.

IF you want a good scooter with lots a cc's then you should get a Vento Phantom. It's 150cc 4 stroke motor is fast. I saw one on the road one day and that thing was ZOOO o_o OOMING! It has all the goodies that a regular vento has like remote start, alarm, and etc. --> just a suggestion

cant drive 55

Yea, I would go with the Phantom. I have found that you are able to get hp pipes for even them. You can even get 175cc kits if you really want to.

a 70cc kit with pipe and variator and all that jazz... will get you a good 45 mph... heck stock it does 42... (With my 200 pounds on it) and with the stuff before my latest upgrades (new cylinder, pipe, and over range) it'd go almost 55mph... (with gears... and probably 50 without)...

Remember that with the money difference in a 50cc to even a 125cc you can get a lot of upgrades.... but depending on how extreme you go with the upgrades reliability can become an issue...

a stage 2 kit from provo is gonna last a while...

Jared, in the other forum that got locked, you said that a stage 2 would do 55. Is that true for someone who's 240 or heavier?
And Big Daddy, remember too that a stock scooter unmodified nomatter what size will have a warranty if you buy it brand new.

nope... I doubt that a stage 2 will go 55 with 240 pounds on it...

Mine had a stage 2 plus some other stuff and gears... and was doing around 55...

a stage 2 should go 55ish with someone who is 150-185 pounds or so...

I wanted more speed... so I went past stage 2... I'm trying for 70....

and I didn't only get 3 mph with stage 2... I got closer to 50 something... can't say for sure with the 40mph zuma speedo but I was a ways past the 40 mph mark.... I'd say stage 2 is good for 7-13 over stock... as provoscooter.com sells it.... with higher spinning cylinder and pipes... it's possible for more...

That Vento Phantom looks pretty dang cool. I worry though. Why havent I ever heard of Vento? Are they something that runs like **** (you know, the kind that runs like a champ for a month and then it turns to chicken poo. I'll be doing some research of my own, but I'd like to hear what you all have to say about them (Remember, I'm a scooter n00b ::handleba )

Another somewhat random quesiton: How many scooters have 15-20hp and how large of a motor do they have? Am I falling into the 400cc super scooters ter.?

Look through the Vento forum, there are plenty of testimonials. I have no first hand experience with the larger 4 stroke Ventos, but, the small 2strokes are good scoots.
