Here is the Zuma I bought for parts. I am only interested in the motor for a "spare". There are many usable parts I need to figure out what to do with though  It came with NO TITLE, so getting it back on the road is NOT an option. ;no

Looks like you definately got $300 worth of spare parts.

I read recently about a service you can use in a few states where lost title replacement is simpler than others. Essentially, you "sell" the vehicle to the title company without a title, they retitle it, then "sell" it back to you complete with a title transfer. Might be worth looking into if you decide you want to keep that scoot whole.

I think he stripped the motor out of it.

the guy from the YMC shop where i got it said it ran when it was wrecked. No theft rocovery, and the motor turns and has compression... (by hand) all is stock as far as I can tell. Heck, the tranny cover screws look as if they have never been touched....

King, you are correct.... I PLAN on ripping the motor out, just haven't done it yet ;no

Hey, Jered, you have enough spare parts, that if you bought that from Len, you'd have a second scooter.

Well, the 7 hour roundtrip yesterday ended up being more like 12 after traffic and food stops. I was so beat, that I slep-in today, and then I went to the casino for a bit. Now, it is already 8pm on the east coast, and I need to get some sleep before work tomorow.

I will probably start the "tear-down" tomorow! :naught: :yippy:

Not the casino again, that's why you're broke, not because of the Zuma! You know with all the money you could save on gambling, you could have dumped in to your Waverunner, and have ended up with a 300hp monster!

um... well... I actually have made a few garbage runs...

I have some of the stuff... the tranny parts are all gone... and all the body stuff (less the mirrors in case I need em later)...

Got 2 good cylinders... 1 just needs a piston replaced... so yeah.. . I'd have it modded within a few hours... and figure a way to get it licensed... at least with a bill of sale you can apply for a new title... who cares if it's registered as a rebuilt... no one needs to know unless you sell it...

anyway, still shocked at the couple deals these florida guys have gotten lately... John got about $700 or so in new parts on ebay for his Atlantic ocean Derby... and should be close to a running scooter now after the $149 he paid for his performance parts! (he robbed the guy IMO) rock on!

I have seen snow only twice. The first time it was like 1976 and it actually stuck on the ground. We were making snowballs with dirt and pine straw in them. Man, lots of little kids crying that day.

so the biggest question still not answered...

DOES IT RUN?

Lennox
03-14-2005, 07:15 PM
ok, the question you have all been waiting for............................

I swapped the stroker out, and the STOCKer in.... It RUNS!!!!!!! :ll Not that fast, but, it runs.(39mph) All I had to do to it, was put an Arreche carb with 65 jet on it.(stock carb was FUBAR) Now, it is time to stage 3 it!

I actually bought a new "preformance cylinder" of E-bay for it, but when I got it, it was a stock 50cc cyl spray painted black! Bummer! Still trying to get paypal to refund me. Hint to everyone.... the guy that sells the 140km speedos is a con!!! co-- Jered, you got lucky ;)

I am new to this board, and somewhat new to sit down scootering so forgive me if I end up asking newbie questions. I have an older Zuma basket case, but am thinking about just buying a new Zuma and starting fresh.

What is under the removable deck plate in the center of the footboard? (seen in the first pic of this thread) There is a hump towards the back. Is there something non removable under the hump? Or could a new, say SS plate be made to end up with a flatter footboard.

Lennox
03-15-2005, 02:51 PM
lets see, inder that hump is the MOTOR!

I have thought of this too. It is very possible, and easy to convert to a "Rukus" looking scoot! I think this is a great idea!!! :worship:

Let us know if you decide to go with it!?!

I just want a flatter footboard so my big claudhoppers have more room to move around. I kind of like the bodywork on the Zuma but would really like a Peugeot Speedflight. But they are not readily available nor is a good parts and service support here in the US. So a Zuma makes more sense for now.
