Hey guys, i was wondering if its possible and wut are a good few steps of taking my scooter engine and slappin it on my old moped frame, or if any one has seen the little trikes, the ones with an engine and two wheel in the back and one in the front...im wondering if anyone knows an easy way to hook up a back end for it? so i could just have the back wheels turning with a lawn mower engine and chain....

I'm guessing that your not trying to make this to go on the road?

a trike, pretty simple same as a go cart but with 3 wheels... take a verticle 5hp briggs and stratton engine... put a stall clutch on it... and hook it up with a chain or belt, depending on the clutch...

then the rear axle shares the power via another fixed pulley or gears...

What would cause you to want to do something like this?

just wondering...

I really wanted it for the snow weve had, but now i want to make something of my own thats not really around here, i like how they look, with a big tire in the front and two smaller ones in the back, and i was gunna put chains on the tires so i could go thru non plowed parking lots when there 3-5 inches on the ground and have some fun

cool... yeah, get a old lawn mower engine... those work well for the "go cart" type set ups.... also you can have both wheels powered this way... unlike if you were to try and work a scooter motor into it where you'd have single wheel power...

jered, ive looked at axles and something called a uni-hub witch has a sprocket on it and it slips right onto the axles keyway...but wut i can't figure out is how i would have the tires stationary on the rear axle...there was two kinds of axles...one with like a cir-clip on the end and one with a threaded end...could u explain how i could use either one....and maybe you could find me a link(since it doesn't have to do with my scoooooooooter) heeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaa
