Heya Folks,

Just moved to PA and after a wonderful time navigating the DMV people/website/bureaucracy, I have come to the wonderful conclusion that I don't need a motorcycle license to continue riding my Yup if its brake horsepower is not more than 5.

I bought the Yup secondhand so I have no clue its brake horsepower. Anyone have any idea where I can obtain the brake horsepower?

Thank you in advance!

the 2002 Kymco yup is a 49.5cc 2 stroke
Braking horsepower is 3.2 on the 2002 if i remember correctly.(5.9hp on the 2005 model)
213 pounds dry weight
Oil injected 2 stroke

I will try to dig up what i can for you. A good idea is have a printer handy to take paperwork to the dmv. you can also contact kymco for further information they are very friendly folks.
here is some specs on the 2002 but it doesnt show horsepower.

http://motorcycle-specs.com/motorcycle_performance.asp?manufacturer=Kymco&model=Yup%2050&year=2002

this is your best bet, contact them and se if they can direct you to a link or even print you out a specs sheet (make sure you ask for horspower stats, tell them its for the dmv)
