What do you think? We going to see Lambretta USA anytime soon? Is Lambretta USA going to reflect the classic style of the old, or just end up another knock off cheapo scooter? Can it go head-to-head with Vespa again like in the past? Who knows if we will ever see it?

I think after the kinks are all work out it will be cool as long as they stick to the classic scooter style as before. piaggio will supply the engine a 4 stroke wc unit(scoot-mag aug2004) that should power the scoot very well, and it will be epa cool for calofornia. I hope :)

I think they have one thing going for them. Their press release says it will use italian parts with final assembly in the US. If they stay true to that, it gives them the perception of traditional Italian quality mixed with the patriot factor of American labor. If they produce a quality product significantly cheaper than the Vespa, they'll have it made. Even if it's ugly, people will buy American (look at Pontiac).

As for american cars, I don't even wanna go there! American manufacturers have almost no origonality, quality, or pazzaz. The only thing we got goin these days are the viper, new mustang (only cuz it looks like the old one), chrysler 300, CTS, and MAYBE the vette, which has become more and more bland as the years go by.

When was the last time you thought, wow that lincoln is so much cooler than that new jag? Not since the early 60ies!!! Or even something remotely close to touching the style of the lexus Sc430? I'm soooo ashamed of our countries automobile design and quality. You buy a mustang these days, and the door handles are falling off a year later, not to mention the horrid plastic interiors!

Well, I can write a novel on this one. Titled....... how detroit lost its shine, haha! Anyways, I'm done complaining! Lambretta, hurry up and start sellin scoots!!! I must say though, people won't just buy anything. I think lambretta will have to put out a solid design to even take a peck outta vespa's empire.
