hi,
new here, can you guys help?
its a 2001 ch80 with 80 miles on it, yup it sat garaged for 8 years!
great bike, but slow off the start.
i have a sr50 ditech, which i have got to the sweet spot, but its a two stoke.
so im looking for some advice on how to get this a little quicker.
it will be my wife's bike to and from work, not far.

main line of thinking was take out the 'wedding ring', and lighter roller weights.
dont need to jet or mess with the exhaust at this time.

didnt see much in the way of tutorials, if they are here please direct me.

thanks so much and happy motering!
lu

first of all see if you can get any weights for your ride..second of all if your exhaust pipe would have a restrictor all u should have to do is remove the exhaust and look in the exhaust pipe (side closest to where the cylinder goes) and you should see if there is anything restricting it there. if so use a dremel to remove the restriction.
if you put heavyer weights you will have higher speeds (if the torque is there) lighter weights will give you more torque...I would break in the motor before playing with anything...check your manual for the procedure. Good luck

it shouldn't BE slow. a good bike like a ch80 should rock. start simple with sum fuel/carb cleaner in the gas. get a better plug and make sure its set. get the hayes repair manual. heck just do the last one. the rest will come. i promise if you read the whole manual and the bike isn't going any faster by the next time you work on it..
you should let someone else fix it...
