I'm looking for the bigger gear for my 2001 Kymco ZX50. It's not as fast as I want it to be after all the upgrades and fixing I've done. Malossi 70cc kit, Dellorto PHBG AS 20mm carb, Kalon Factory exhaust, Kelli speed variator with new boss & 9gr rollers and new belt. I'm about to put my old 7gr rollers back in it to see if puts more pep to it's step or stagger them with the 9's. Does anyone know where I can get the bigger gear? Send me the link if you will, thank you!

what is the part number for your cylinder kit from Malossi? With that i could find compatible scooters and a part number for an upgear.

It's a Malossi 70cc kit, cast iron part # M 317200 and this is it...

i want to say that your scooter is compatible with the European Kymco DJ Y 50 or K 12 50. But Malossi doesn't make an upgear for either of these scooters, so i doubt anyone else does either but it is possible. Sorry

It's a replica of a Honda DIO that's only made in Europe. I've been looking some stuff up and it appears that it's like the Kymco DJ Y 50 you were speaking of. I found a cylinder kit that looks just like the one I got and it says it's for a Honda DIO ZX/Kymco DJ. Plus a few other sites and products say their alike. I have a manual to my scooter on my PC that someone sent to me. I can e-mail it to you if you would like to take a look for yourself. It has instructions and pictures, but doesn't say what kind they are. My e-mail is kedwards144@triad.rr.com, please assist me in this matter. Thank you!!!

Hey you guys, could this be the upgear I've been looking for? Says it's for a Honda Elite DIO and so far everything DIO works for my ZX50...

Ok, I've found a few different gears to choose from. The guy I know on ebay thinks that his may not work, but a variety to choose from 9.1 - 6.5/ 9.1 = 3 to 4 increase and 6.5 = 11+. There's also this other site that has what the guy told a Transmission ratio: D = 16-32...the 6.5 has 16x30 teeth, I figure the other guy is saying 16x32. I'm doing all the research I can so this can be done right the 1st time! I've included a a few links of the gears, any info would help out a lot!

if you add the shipping you get polini for $37 more
than the off brand(ASN ?) parts
wonder what quality of steel is used on them?

Oh that's a Polini gear..enough said! I didn't know what brand it was, just want to get the best for it. I believe in getting it done right the 1st time! I see that you work there as well as my other informer. I'm trying to find someone to install it for me at the time, but if it doesn't fit..can I get a refund? I'm pretty sure it will considering my ZX is just like a DJY and Dio that it states it's compatible with...

I'm having the same problem as you... I have a 2005 BW's and got an upgear for a minarelli motor but i guess yamaha changed their design from europe to Canada so i'm stuck returning also. I also tried sourcing bearings to make the upgear fit and it ends up being un-manufactured bearing size...I feel your pain bro!

There are definitely a few variations on the minarelli engine. I'm not sure they match up 100% with anything in europe. The Vino is very similar to the zest, and has the most compatible parts with other minarelli engine. The zuma/Bw's have a few parts that a different and I have yet to find a scooter that is 100% the same in Europe. As long as we are on the subject it is worth mentioning that one the differences between the zuma and vino is the upgear.

not 100% sure but i have seen the gear casing cover on the net already made by stage 6. probably the gearing i have here would fit with that cover..the problem is that the cover is as expensive as the gearing itself. as the bearing that can't be matched is on the main shaft to the wheel and mates in that cover.if anyone have their old bw's gears out and have a chance to measure i would be curious to find out the measurments.
