DO NOT PUT THIS IN YOUR BIKE. Unless you want to have no more motor it will seize everything wideopen accidently put this in his bike because the sticker was ripped partway off so he put that in his bike and it seize the bearing in the crank and the bearings in the case luckily not the kit so the crank was so scored there was no way to fix it because it was scored so bad and that's why he got the stroker.

Yea definetly dont put that it thats the reason why i bought a stroker...because my brank got messed up and i couldent find a used one and the new ones from honda were so expensive i was like i might as well buy a stroker crank and put a stroker bore on it instead of buying the new stock one.... o_o

I use Castor oil in both the ski, and the scoot. It is not quite marine oil. I t pre-mix only semi-syn race oil. Costs about $12 qt.

TWC-3 only means its ashless..... Are you sure thats what blew that crank?

Lennox- you meant Castrol oil not castor oil right :)

100% because before he was using normal oil and this thing ran fine for days and days and days but as soon as he put that marine oil in The motor was toast as soon as he hit the real high rpms on the parkway like 60+ so it was really crankin and then itwas like a big downshift.

I used to use Castor 927 in my premix moped but since buying my scooter I haven't been able to find an injector version. When you look at the bottle it says "premix only". I still haven't figured out why I cant use it for my injector. Does anyone know an equivelent or even better?

it will probaly clog up your oil lines, because it is so thick........?

They make straight castor oil for racing use. It's the good stuff. I'm told, though, that it doesn't do squat to protect against corrosion. After using it you have to run regular oil through the engine, at least in a salty climate.

I use Yamalube-2 jet-ski oil in my Vino, have a thousand miles of use with it. Runs perfect. No problems, and certainly no seizing!

At YMC, we use to use it all the time on the scooters, also with no ill effects, and never had we had a scooter come back with a motor seized up!

I like the lack of white smoke, but I'm not fond of the cost difference.

thanks for all the info, now im scared to use the marine oil. i'll read a bit more on it on the net maybe, autozone, had a gallon of this marine oil for 2 bux... they said they just cant sell any marine oil and been sitting for a long long time and thats why its so cheap... when i read the lable and thought about the difference, i couldnt see why it would be bad for our scooters.

i have 55 gallon drums of marine 2 cycle oil at work... which i was just going to take but this gallon was only 2 bux.. i know our marine evinrude and mercury 225hp run 5 to 6000rpm wot all day long with this oil and runs great, but if the scooters run at 9000rpm i can see why it might make a difference.

if twc only means ashless, the lubrication property should be the same no? but now im inclined to return that 2 bux a gallon oil... actually ive seen little boat races that used 2 cycle motors that screamed past 10,000rpm... i dont know what kind of oil they used though. and i dont think it was gas either..

could the marine oil that wideopen used maybe not mixed properly? was the oil injection already removed and gas premixed? if the marine oil was so thick and injection didnt work.. i can see it seizing the motor...

in any case, thanks for all the reply.. now i want just throw it in there, instead i think i will return it and go buy those yamalube stuff that i ran out of.

i'll have a fun weekend as my kit arrived today! RS, 70cc Airsel, 19mm Arreche, Malossi variator!@!!!! cant wait to get all of them installed!!!!

thanks again for all the experienced advice! it is truly nice to know the hands on experience of good and bad parts!

so ive read throught other sites about oils and what not. Yamalube 2-S is the cheapest, then Yamalube 2-W, then Yamalube 2-M, then Yamalube 2-R. Street oil says something like prevents oil gumming at cold temps.. well a marine motor never really sees cold cold temp.. 2-M is for larger 2 cycle boats where 2-W are for jet skis and such... difference i cant tell from reading the net.. 2-R racing 2 stroke oil.. its double the price of 2-S... seems like 10 bux a gallon is a fair price for penzoil syn blend, ive read people suggesting walmart, sams and advance auto. all for about 10 a gallon. yamalube 2-s is about 14, 2-w 17 or so..

i guess its not going to kill me to buy a 10 dollars/gallon oil compared to deal 2 bux a gallon deal... i dont think it was syn blend either.. so ill return it and buy at least a syn blend.

whats the compression ratio of regular 70cc airsel kit? not stroker or anything like that, just stock converted to this? while reading the different threads on other pages, some say 2 cycle motors marine run at 7 to 8 to 1 ratio.. where cars are 10 to 1ish.. and turbo cars 8.5 to 1 but with 18psi of boost that is greatly increased.

87 octane gas burns at less compression, more combustible.. 93 is less combustible so it can withstand higher compression and not detonate.. makes sense and i knew this but i dont know what the ratio is on our scooter! anyone? if in reality it is only 8 or 7 to 1 then by using 93 octane i may be losing some hp...

any thoughts?

Mmm, I live in Mary;and near the Bay, and all winter long we have boats going up and down the bay even when we have two inches of ice out there. We have ice cutters that cut channels for our deadrise boats, and the skipjacks are using really small yawl boats all winter long in the water when it's down in the low 30's, with no problems. (I sorta have a feeling this post will only make sense to MM)

so, to clear things up.......... 2-stroke marine oil is perfectly fine to use in a scooter. The only thing to be aware of is that some oils are not compatible with others, so before changeing your oil in the resovoir, make sure you bleed the system!!!

I mean i wouldent use marine oil ever again after wat it did to my scooter...i was driving down a BIG highway called FAIRFAX county parkway with shyan and some other boy....i was going going going and it started DOWNSHIFTING and i was like whaaaaat and then it went away like 10 secs later it SEASED up and i went home....had thought it was my belt or somthing ...took my covers nothing...took my cylinder off and lookd at my piston pulled it up and down and woooooo my rod had like quarter in of play..so then i knew my scoot was screwd untill i bought a crank...stock was way too much i was like might as well buy a performance one...then turned aroung and bought a fully blown stroker kit on my honda and NEVER WILL USE MARINE OIL IN MY BIKE ;no AGAIN..

Yea, I almost ran into wideopen, we were going 65 mph with lotsa traffic. I was riding about 1 foot behind him and then his tire suddenly locked up and i almost hit him, i slamed on my brakes, i was skidding so much, there was a flat spot on my rear tire. Cars honking and what not and the one behind us almost hit us cus of that damn marine oil. THank god for my abs brakes...... yal kno who those work................................
