Hey everybody! This is my first of many posts! This is a great forum, glad I found it.
Luckily here in Florida there are no helmet laws. Air in the hair is the best feeling!! :p

Sorry, there are no helmet laws in alaska for the driver, the passengers must wear a helmet... However...
your driving down the road at 30 MPh, you hit some gravel and your scooter slides oput from under you, as you fall to the right you let go of the handle bar and start to extend your hand toward the ground... however you hit before your hand does and next thing you see is stars... and then nothing...
Sucks to be you since you wern't wearing a helmet... something that was so minor... a 30 mph layover... And your FREAKING DEAD!
get the point! IMO anyone who doesn't wear a helmet gets what they derserve... It's all a matter of being the dull spoon or the bright one...
Sorry if I made anyone mad but thats the facts....
ALSO here is my 1/2 helmet I have as well... paid all of $26.00 for a DOT legal helmet...

Here's a picture of my egg shell, an HJC model, even comes with a zip-out/in thermal insulated ear and neck peice ( technicaly called a ear & neck curtain ) - I do not have it zipped on in this picture, real nice for winter and colder day riding though. And yes, that good looking hunk of a man is ME !
Oh and, helmet law or no helmet law, ALWAYS where your dam helmet, no excuses. :)

Just like to protect my valuable assets... my brain being the most important... I don't want the issues of feeding tubes and splattered brains...
However to each their own... I see 75% of people here in alaska without helmets... Kinda silly as we have HUGE bugs here!
Thanks as well... I like my mods as well... My goal is to have the fastest (49cc, when stock) scooter... Well... maybe just to have a bad ass one...
I'm not as mean as I sound, I just am opinionated... Sorry..

The problem I have with people not wearing helmets is that when they wreak and don't have health insurance WE end up footing the bill for it.
So it has been proven over and over that helmets save lives and you are dumb enough not to wear one that should be your choice- just wish the first $30K of your estate is sold to cover the cost of saving or trying to save you if some thing were to happen.

Hey guys don't make me go all cop preachy here on helmets. Anyone want I'm sure I can dig up my fair share of images of cycle wrecks I've been at where the rider is not wearing a helmet. Helmets save lives, and staying alive beats being dead.

....everybody has one and they all stink!
We ALL know what can happen with or without a helmet. We do not need photos.
Like I said in my very first post ever........ "luckily" I live in Florida and have a choice. Alot of you don't. If some of you did have a choice you would probably try it. And who knows you might like it.

I had a nice friendly post here about fatality rates, my time on the force responding to accidents, informing parents of a dead kid who should have lived, hell;l most of ya on here heard about the kid we lost last month in my club hitting a van at 30 helmet less. Tomorrow, I plan to scan and post some accident pix from crashed I've covered, nothing like a little reality check. I have an update posted i nthe Law section about the accident with our member.
If you want to debate helmet laws, Lenox, we got a law forum for you to rant in. The rest of ya, keep posting yer helmet pix.

I have a thing I only wear my half face on little local jaunts, where the bugs don't smack me in the face so much, but when it gets colder, I'm on longer rides out in the country, or it's cold, I got the FF on. I prefer it, but sadly when I got the Vino, I couldn't find a FF in town that was under 300. It really amazes me what the FF goes for these days. That little HJC FF was close to 200. I wish someone would design a lightweight helmet with an internal AC or something. The 100 degree 100% humidity and insane dew points even at 50mph is enoguh to kill ya. Plus to make matters worse for me, I wear glasses, so FF is doing a real number on my frames!

I got mine on eBay for $70 something after shipping... It's DOT and Snell 2000 approved... Not an old stock it was manufactured the beginning of 2004... As you all should know... Helmets are only good for 5 years from the manufactures date...
http://stores.ebay.com/Factory-Overloads_W0QQsspagenameZl2QQtZkm
here is the link to the ebay store I bought them from... He has 3 or 4 styles of the full face helmets for a decent price... I think the cheapest is around $45 and the one I got was $65 or so... Plus shipping...

I've got 4 helmets... a black half shell for the Vino, a black 3/4 for the Twin Star, a blue full face for the Bandit, and a silver 3/4 for passengers. I'm not sure of the brands... I'll have to get back to you on that, but they're all good brain-buckets. And all have flip-shields.
