King can you please tell me what a super stroker is that I hear about?
I will turn this over to Provo's very own chief mechanics, Lennox and Jered!

One question I always had..do the strokers add power to the full Range??...I heard its a Torque thing..and didnt affect top end much..just acceleration......Tell us.. we wanna know....John

Pretty much a super stroker is one that you have to cut your cases up not like a 90 cc or so and under mini stroker, super stroker is normally like 100cc and up like lennox one that you have to have your cases machined for the crank to fit and cut your cases up on top pretty good for the cylinder sleeve to fit unlike a mini stroker would be like like what wideopen has on his dio no cutting of the case for the crank to fit only a little grind which takes like a minute because all you cut is this little lip off for the cylinder sleeve to fit and his is a 90cc.

It is everything because i rode wideopens with a 70 on it and then with the 90 stroker it's a big difference lots of extra power especially low end and some top end juice but ya you could say it's alot of extra power but that power gives you top end in that you have the power to reach the speed so it is an overall performance upgrade so I think if your cases are split you might aswell go big while your there and then once it's done it's done john and you have that little extraness over everyone and have the title of stroker...

basically there are several options of "larger cylinders" than the 49cc stock cylinder.
to start: the Simple upgrade of a 70cc cylinder, it bolts to a completely stock engine case. No case mods are needed simply bolt and tune.
there are 80cc kits but are far and few between, I'm pretty sure that there are some that work with no case work but not 100%
the next is 90cc kit, it requires the case to be "opened" to allow for the larger piston to fit into case. However you can use the stock length crank/connecting rod.
then you get into the "stroker engine" 105cc and 110cc (are available, yes I've heard of others but this is where I'll end). Basically what you are accomplishing is taking a longer "crank stroke" which causes the area in which the cylinder uses is 105cc... These use the same piston as the 90cc kit but with a crankshaft change it causes longer piston travel and therefore makes it a "stroker" engine.
Unfortuantely after talking with Lennox, he feels that he had to remove to much of the case to keep the integrity of the case.
Not to say that that the case can't handle it but it's all on the owner of the machine to make the call.
simply put, the stroker engine has a longer piston travel and larger combustion chamber than a similar size piston/cylinder due to the longer stroke of the cylinder.
Lennox, have anything to add?
oh yeah... the power issue... it's kinda like looking at it this way.... take a mustang... with a V6, it works... has enough power to make the car go fine. but give it the "cobra engine V8" and it'll haul serious tush!
same concept, you can only get so much power and speed out of a particular cc engine.
Example, with my old set up, 70cc airsal, leo zx pipe, technomoto variator and other stuff... I was topping at 55mphish... lennox hit 73mph with his 105cc kit, technomoto... not sure what his other parts are but I don't even think he has gears...
So... there is potential on low end power and also top end speed... just a matter of how you build it up... Lennox ever gets a over range.... that thing would litterally be on 1 wheel all the time! and if he got 60% upgears! it'd probably get closer to 80-85mph... or better! Yes it's possible... one of the yahoo gusy is doing in the 95 mph area... (not sure if it's proven but he's one of the "known" "trusted" members on yahoo)...

95 mph is definetely possible depends on how you get it setup theres guys in hawaii doin 100!!!I don't expect to ever go that fast unless i find some tall gears for mine which i probaly won't and be stuck in the double digit zone... still fast enough to smoke everyone?!?!? ::handleba

Nah, I'll pass, I don't do any work on scooters anymore, I jsut don't have the time or patience with my knees like that are now. ;;p

I would love to see that though never seen one before as neither a vento or a NEW zuma so i figured i'd be the first to do it on a vento.

Lennox with the 105cc if he had the tall gears, and an over range... would kick some tail off most any 70cc...
Then again, it all take a key play in what the engine will do, exhaust, cylinder, carb, intake, tranny, tires... it all matters... so you need to upgrade it all to expect these speeds of 70+....
And don't think about keeping the stock 2 ply tires... unless you want to see what a motorcycle on the rim feels like at 70mph!
My tires are 4 ply, street (not nobby like the stock ones) so it'll handle most speeds I can reach on the scooter anyway...

wow, I got left out of a good thread........I was too busy sleeping.....
105cc and up, I will not ride more than 1-2 miles away from home....I just dont trust it..... Kinda sux I spent all this time and money on a Fast scoot that I cannot ride......
To answer some questions...... I do have gears...... I am still running stock tires/brakes...... I am not running the Techno Vario..I am running a Kelly Racing Model.....Polini Speed Clutch....Winged Bell.....
My stroker is still a worx in progress.... I am still searching for the oversees cases for the BW100 These cases would accept my parts very well, and stay strong!

To answer the question asked, a stroker is ANY motor that has a longer throw crank fitted. A superstroker is a term I "invented" that involves a SUPER size cylinder/piston. There you have it, a SUPERSTROKER!!!

But Len... aren't undersquare engines (long stroke/short bore) engines supposed to be long on torque but short on horsepower? All of the training I had told me long stroke was good for recip airplanes, but bad for earthbound vehicles.

well the torque will be long but the horsepower will not be as much of a percentage upgrade like the torque will when it is stroked. The main thing about strokers that limits them is it is hard to get the rpms up on strokers that's another main reason why jap bikes have so many rpms and harleys don't just to long of stroke but that's also why harley people always say ain't got no torque because they have alot of it but jap bike people are wondering where the power because they have that sick power I think thats a perfect example of long stroke vs short stroke.

Yea man i mean i had a 72cc polini kit on my bike and when i took it off and put the 90cc stroker with the crank and all it was like slowere for some reason i mean the it had allitle bit more powere but with the 72 if felt like it had more power in low and keeps rizing as it goes its like a big diffrence...i mean thats why when i get my new honda elite S i am not going to split the cases in the begining i will put the 72 and all the performance of my old motor of the diento and leave the stroker kit on the dio motor so i will have a spair motor or i might sell it on ebay.
