Ok, got one of these a few days ago. I see PM's like this from time to time, but I guess it's been a while since the following has been stated. The mods aren't as big on this as I am, but this comes from the days when I was the sole mod on the old forums.

I believe strongly in the value of these forums for reference, and am nuts to keep things organized and in it's proper place. Threads in proper forum, posts staying on topic, often times guests and new users come to the boards looking for information, and often times leave because they do not find what they need. A thirty post thread on let's say buying jets, should not split off in to a discussion about tire pressure simply because the issue of tire pressure may not be found by a person looking for it. Who is going to look in a jet thread for info on TP? It's cause of this also how we end up with three threads on the same subject posted in four days too!

Because of this, I tend to split off topic posts in to new threads, often times, in to other forums. A lot of times, especially with our newer users who do not use the "New Post" option, a lot of times the users who got caught up in off-topic posts assume that their threads were deleted as in reality they were given their own thread. It is very rare, and usually with much discussion among the entire mod team before a post is ever deleted. Most deleted posts are done so by the person who has posted it.

Simply put this is a reminder, keep on it topic, or it gets it's own thread when the mod team or myself finds it --o
