I accidently let the battery on my vino 125 discharge and have been unable to get it to the shop for charging. I am looking for a charger that will support the 12v sealed-type (mf) battery which came stock. Where can I find one? Also, is it bad on the scooter to run it without the battery installed? I have just been kick-starting it for the last couple days and am curious if I am doing any damage. the battery is a GTX 7A-BS (yuaso?) i think. 12v 6ah. Am having trouble finding info on where to get an appropriate charger.

Benanzo-
Battery Tender makes a good trickle charger for the battery. You can find them at a local battery store, my Yammy dealer even had them. Better prices online. I 've had my Vino hooked up to one for the past month or so, since it has been too cold & snowy to ride.

I don't believe it will harm the scooter to run without the battery for short periods, but get some feedback from the experts here on that.

shouldn't hurt it for short term... long term you could cause it to not hold a charge...

Provo sells chargers... walmart, sears... lots of places...

also if the battery is DEAD, the scooter will not charger the battery... you HAVE to charge it via a plug in...

my vino 125 battery went dead after leaving her in the garage for a couple months without use.. finally figured out the kick started and got it running.. and now i start it up every day with the electrical start...so if it doesn't charge the battery..then...hmmm i guess i have a magic battery..lol

Well I'm stating how my zuma is working...

if the battery is dead... (when I had an electric starter), if I kick started it... then it wouldn't charge the battery...

If it was a little dead, and I kick started it... IE: the motor would crank slowly, then I kick started it instead... it would charge...

So, if the battery was really dead, it wouldn't charge... until I charged it on the wall charger...

Just one mans experience...
