I couldn't wait till mid afternoon when the temps are slated to hit 61. I work a midnight shift these days, so I'm usually in bed by 0930, but today, I had to start the Vino, and waited until 1000 till it was in the 40's. Sadly, I couldn't let the scooter sit there idle, so I had to ride it for a bit, and let me say, the Vino has sat for three months, and the TP was low. Riding a scooter with low rear tire pressure with salt still on the road ain't much fun, LOL. (I forgot to run the at-home air pump first. Never forget to check that tire pressure.

My rear tire was completely FLAT when I checked on it after sitting for 2 months!

Still too much snow in my yard to drag it up the hill from the shed, so I can walk it to the corner gas station.

Anyone ever hand-pumped a flat tire on a scooter before? Would it be better to get one of those flat repair cans or will it ruin the tire?

Thanks!

DO NOT USE THE CANS! they make the tire all jacked up...

walk it to the store... or get a manual pump... it'll take a while but will work... as long as the bead hasn't been broken... and if it has, I doubt the gas station pump would seal the bead, unless it's a clip on style connector...

Jered- THANKS for the warning. I know it is not good to use that stuff on car tires, but I thought I read somewhere it might be ok to use "fix-a flat" on tubeless scooter tires

I'm sure it'll work... but I'd stay away from that stuff...

That's one of those... LAST OPTION things...

Another alternative is to use a CO2 cartridge. I keep a couple in my emergency kit. You can get the inflator and one cartridge for $13. The refills are $5 for 3 cartridges.

Yep, if anyone can't find these, look at something like sportsman warehouse, or a bike shop... also many motorcycle dealers stock them as they are perfect for 4 wheelers who break the bead on a tire...

the brand name of the inflator that uses co2 cartridges is Ultraflate. I bought mine at a bicycle store. I buy the cartridges from a sporting goods store.
