Just wondering allong with our Scooter toys...
any of you have RC stuff?
I have a Traxxas 4 Tec, with dual exhausts, carbon rear shock tower... and race slicks...
Yes it's modded as well...
heck my zx3 focus with the body kit, magnaflow cat back, and AEM intake... Nothing of mine stays stock... It's costing to much money... Jesh... will it ever end...
Just wondering if anyone else has RC stuff... I know erich is into RC trucks... But not sure what he does for sure...

I have a T Maxx and a 4-Tec...a lot of fun until you hit something, haha.
I bounced mine off of a curb, did the flying rotation end over end through the air... and smacked into a brick wall 1 foot from a glass window...
shattered the rear shock mounts... that's why they are upgraded.... o--

since we have this thread here i guess i'll ask, i just bought a used team associated nitro tc3 for $180 and i just cant seem to get it started. it has sputtered and then died but it doesnt seem to wanna start again. it does have a rex race pipe on it and some stiffer springs. i have the electric starter box and that is just spinning the motor over.

have you set the air fuel correctly? is it broke in yet? if it is then try setting the needle back to where you got it from the factory for break in and start leaning it out from there....is your glow plug still good is it fouled and do you got enough charge for the glow plug starter?

depending is it a large one like a .049 enigine or larger displacement? rather it is or not there is a computer program out there to teach you how to fly it befor you actualy do...you can get it at some rc stores and its called real flight g3....it utilizes a controller just like you would use in real flight and a program so if you crash its only a computer model and not the real thing....i tried it on a freinds computer to fly a helicopter once when i was thinking of gettting one and well needless to say i didnt get one way to hard i thought lol good luck though

the glow plug is new since i figured these motors are just like a scooter and after sitting for a year i would change it. the glow plug starter i have has new batteries and when i tested it with a plug in there it was a bright orange like i was told i needed. as for the a/f screw i turned it all the way in and then took it out 2 1/2 turns. i am pretty sure that the motor was broken in because the friend i bought it from had used it for like 6-8 months before i bought it. i am getting frustrated since these rc motors are really just smaller 2stroke motors.

have you got gas gummed up inside cause the nitro that you use gums up easily cause the caster oil it uses and how old is your fuel your using? if older then 2 months throw it out and get some new stuff.

the gas is brand new i bought a new bottle since i didnt have any. im guessing that the gas probably is gummed up inside and is it the same thing with these carbs as it is on a scooter carb? just take it off and spray it with some carb cleaner?
anothermbdusted

no and yes they make a special spray sold at hobby shops to clean the grease off caused by the nitro and caster oil that it uses.... i think the carb cleaner is to harsh to use but call a shop i just never used that stuff is all...have you been to the rc car actions forums for it?they are the largest out there for help and knowing of stuff like this

I get enough of the ground!! I fly RC Aircraft. I have several 30% aerobatic aircraft that use 50cc gas engines simular to our scooters. Only my engines have electronic ign. with auto timing advance.
Here is a link to our club website http://takeoff.to/mash The red & white plane on the home page is mine. Its a 27% scale Extra 300 powered by a ZDZ 50cc gasser (as we call them).
Taking Off Is An Option - Landing Is Not!!!

so i tried to clean out the carb on sunday and it still wouldnt start. how would i know if the motor wasnt working right? i'm thinking i might just take it to my local hobby shop and see if they can either get it working or give me some more ideas to get it running. i have been told that the parts on it are quite high performance maybe thats some of the problem?

i never understand how the little r/c bikes can balance very well. i think they must have the motor more in the middle of the frame to keep balance but i never have understood how it can stay standing while slowing down and stopping. i love the idea!! and of course like what john said they put out that awsome smoke trail!!!! :)

what kind of engine is it?make model? do you have the correct number of shims under the heatsink for the proper compression ratio?is there a air leak at the carb there can be a number of things to look at even though its a small engine lol keep trying but let me know who makes the engine and the model number would help alot....

ok, i looked at the engine and all it says is "AE .12" the car is a team associated nitro tc3. as for air leaks i checked and tightened the carb up and made sure the little orings were there. when i looked under the heatsink i didnt see any shims but there was a little spacer and i had no idea what it went to when i bought it, maybe that should go under the heatsink?
