How much money do you spend on scooter related stuff? Not including money spent on scooter parts or service, but money spent on scootering music, clothing, rallies, or just on other stuff you do to go with the lifestyle?

I am the 100+ guy right now... New helmet, another new helmet... Not at about $150 in a month and a half.... So that's about $100 a month... However it will drop off now as I got my 1/2 helmet and a new full face...

Probably around 50 bones a month.... between buying scooter mags (some get pretty pricey from europe) and odds and ends like gloves. Stage 1 set me back a few, and I'm thinkin about gettin a retro helmet.... wait, it's more like $200 a month  !!!

I spend about $80-100 a month. It's easy as hell to go fast but it's very expensive to go fast and keep your scoot reliable! Trust me, I have fried 3 kits in the past two years. Mods like Jared with the rear blinkers, open rear, dual headlight (which I did back in 2002) are good examples of spending minimal cash to get street worthy results. Motor mods will continue to be expensive until the euro-scoot-culture becomes more popular in Canada and the US. Shops like Provo Scooter are prime examples of honest scoot-shops that promote the culture and keep it affordable. Nothing feels better than pulling up to your local hot spot and getting all the attention. For some reason...the ladies love it so don't get upset when an R1 blows by you....because most likely, his girlfriend will be flirting with you back at the hang out!

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one blowing money on scooter stuff. In the last few months I bought two Ventos, then did a big bore kit on one of them. I bought two helmets also. I then bought a Derbi Predator on ebay. It was a torn up old turd, so I've spent more money to make it run better. I then bought a brand new Derbi GP1. It's sweet. Today I ordered some new roller weights for the Predator and I'm looking at one of those Metrakit pipes. It already has a cylinder kit and aftermarket carb. I also want to do a big bore on the new GP1. I don't know how much that project will be, but it won't be cheap if I do it right. I need to slow down or I'll be broke in no time...

OEM japanese rear blinkers...... $100
OEM japanese rack................ $200
Shipping.............................. $1,000,000
Knowing your scoots the sickest in town...............priceless :D

We've had a lot of new members since this poll went inactive so I brought it back up, and have extended the poll time to indefinite.

This past year--the first that I've had my Vino, I probably spent around $20 a month for upgrades and acsessories.
Next year it will be less

I guess I have spent over 100.00 a month. But I've only had it 4 months and have already replaced a body panel, chrome rims, turn signals, and lots of materials for my paint project.
I'll slow down the spending after I paint and get stage one.

Well, I really have to keep my spending down, but between magazines, polish, the shocks, the belts, toys, post cards from france and my (upcoming) larger purchase; i've put aside 200 bucks this month for the scoot, but it will likely be the last bit of spending on it for at least six months. I wonder if you could convert hours of sleep lost to surfing the internet looking for more scooter stuff into $?

Stage 1 kit
MultiVar
kevlar belt
assorted rollers
S1 tires
windshield
basket
MDI shock
centerstand welded
misc shipping
assorted shop fees

at least my scoot came with a good helmet! LOL

Now I have a new headlight to install.

And AJ has me thinking of trying the 3.50 S1 in the front of my scoot.

Just when you think you've arrived you think of something else to do!

But yeah... well over $100/mo since getting my Vino last October.

Hmmm-my 1st responce was $0-$10 for fuel/oil but now... blah-

$2250 for Zuma

$2900 for Derbi with $925 in upgrades since then and another $200 just around the corner to complete my Over Range.

$2100ish for my 124cc BWS

Gas prices are up and my throttle hand has a spasm that makes it roll back all the time.

Grrr... one ride and now I am hooked and slowly going broke..

...but money spent on scootering music...

Since where I live there isnt awhole lot of scooterist I don't feel like a turd for asking this, but; what exactly is scootering music? What genre and whatnot?

I listen to everything from David Banner, 2Pac, & Twista (Rap), to Cold, Lacuna Coil, & Rob Zombie (rockish stuff :P), and back to George Strait, Alison Krauss & Union Station, & Trace Adkins.

Any of that scooterist music or am I, once again, against the grain with yet another lifestyle of people? http://deephousepage.com/smilies/pointlaugh.gif

I already know the answer. I'll never fit in anywhere... lol. :compp:

Its different in different countries. In America, it can be old "Mod" music (Old Who (My Fave)..Small Faces..with Rod "the mod" Stewart, T-Rex, Or when Ex skin heads and punks get a scooter and chill out it's Ska and Old school Punk. In England right now its old American "Motown", Blues and soul. If you listen to fatboy Slim, you can hear some of his samples are influenced by this (not to mention his Million Record Vinyl collection!) ::unk:: John

and let's not forget the scooter originated in Italy--so what do Italians scoot by opera, the Tarantalla? Sinatra, theme from the Godfather??? ;wink)

 I don't guess I spend that much on scootering stuff yet but now that I have my new GT5, the spending will start on the 05 Zuma. I hate when everyone else is having so much fun spending money when I'm not. Kinda like I hate to see a drunk when I am sober and I hate to be drunk when all others are sober. :smokin:

It's cheaper than the Jeep, but between scooter poker nights, weekly rides to local restaurants and bowling alleys...
