I may replace mine this Winter. When you get it, let us know what is involved in replacing it, where the CDI is located, etc etc. May have to wait until Spring to know how much it improved performance.

Well I got mine and its a really easy install, 10 mins tops!, no tools required.
However I noticed no change in performance at all. not 1 km/h difference.
I am so very very very disapointed,

On jiangwayne's website he claims the unrestricted CDI for the Classic will increase speed up to 76kmh (47.5 mph). But in a recent email I received from jiangwayne, he claims the unrestricted CDI will not increase speed only RPM????

Well, if you increase your rpm's and do no other tuning I would guess it would just shift your powerband and screw with your vari and torsion spring settings. If you adjusted those settings (lighter rollers/stronger torsion) you should probably see better hill climbing at minimum. That may be where an upgear kit would help for more top speed.

Well, thats the catch. Increasing RPM needs additional modding to get more speed. However this is the claim that jiangwayne has on his website regarding the unrestricted Classic CDI.
YAMAHA Genuine Part, direct bolt-on, plug-in n' play!
No engine rpm restrictions, you can push the performance to no-limit,
our demo Vino50 4T runs up to 75km/hr on flat ground
without any other performance parts installed,
you'll see the power of YAMAHA 3-Valves 50cc engine!

Huh...47mph seems kinda fast for stock. I want one of his demo scoots! You might inquire with him on how "stock" is his demo. You might get the missing info you need.

I am waiting for him to answer my latest email. Will see what his reply is.

CDI's are way overrated, only time you would need one is when you got a cam installed so yo can rev up the engine way past the stock limiter.
