Hey guys. I was installing my new Stage 1 kit yesterday and I ended up stripping the top hole that the exhaust is mounted to. I'm hoping to try and clean up the threads a little using a die and try to avoid an entire re-thread with a Heilcoil. I'm pretty sure the size hole is a 8mm because there is an 8 on the head of the bolt that fits in the hole but I'm unsure of the thread spread. Is it just a standard thread? Does anyone know what Die I should use to try and clean the hole and finally get my exhaust pipe on!? Thanks

dude you might be right, but 8 could be the hardness.
when you go to the hardware store take the
good stud and match it up. i think its more like a 6
m6 i think its called but just screw what you have into
one of those what thread is it thingys.
but more than likely you will end up re-taping or adding
a coil.

Thanks man. I ended up just using a 8mm tap and die to clean out the threads. It worked like a charm and only cost 8 dollars. Still took an hour to fit the new pipe on but worth every minute of it. I'm about to throw a new spark plug in and really experience the stage 1 in it's full force.

Wow! Glad U got it fixed! I've been thinking about that nightmare and have decided when I do the muffler upgrade I will be using grade 8 studs with anti seize compound. That way I won't be pulling cap screws out anytime I need rear tire work. ö
