Anybody out there changed out a crankshaft on 2008 zuma yet? I'm assuming that they are the same as the 02-05 zuma's, but don't know for sure. I'm in the middle of trying to replace my stock crankshaft, with an athena high performance oem crankshaft.
My question is how do you remove the generator/stator bell, I have already removed the fan, and 14mm bolt and washer, but the bell will not budge. What a'm I missing here, is it pressed onto the crank shaft?? Help!! Thanks!!!

Yes the proper way to get it off is to buy a puller,It threads into the larger threads that are around the outside where the nut goes and then there is a center bolt that threads down and tightens down against the end of the crank. You tighten the center bolt until the rotor pops off. You will also find that once you get that off the cases wont just split open. The crank bearings are press fit into the cases and the crank is press fit into the bearings. The proper way to split the cases is another puller for that. I have heard of guys beating it apart with a hammer but that doesent seem like a good idea to me. There are probably other ways I am not aware of.

I used a press for my cases when building my Triton (same motor).

You may just want to take it to a shop to see it gets done right.
