Hey, does anyone know why when i am gasing my triton R4 it sounds like bbbrrrrrr then its louder BBBBRRRRREERRR then lower then louder and son on, I can also feel it, its like its im gasing it and lettting go but im not im full throttling it. It also happens when i am just gasing it a little just not as loud and not as repetitive.

Any ideas???, it never did this before... All i have on it is a technigas rs, arrech 19mm carb, tecnomoto variator with the lightest weights, kevlar belt, clutch springs, and a white malossi torque driver spring...........??

i am using the lightest rollers that came with the technomoto variator(silver ones), and this just started happening earlier today, never before and i did not touch the engine. I dont think its the variator anyway because when i am slowing down like from 30-20-10mph to 5 i can still hear it reving all wierd, even when it is idiling at a stop....

The vari, or belt wear could cause this. Also how is your spark plug?

The quick Spark plug read is....You want a light brown color. On your Electrode....(Perfect mixture of gas and oil)..if it's lighter(Tan) or darker.(Black)......you need to adjust..Ask Lennox....It might be your Trans section..

Sounds to me like a "plug bog"

When the fuel mixture is to strong or if your getting to much fuel... it'll bog the engine down...

Might try getting a new plug and seeing if that corrects the issues... Next check your rollers and make sure they are good... your using the CRAP ones that come with the technomoto and they wear out after about 100 miles or so...

after that.. post again and we'll trouble shoot more...

I found out the problem, The star washer that connects to the variator fin (gold one) broke in about 5 pieces. I dont get how it broke, any ideas? im sure i had it installed correctly. what is it going to do when i get a 70cc kit.....disinigrate? Also the variator fin was grinded a little too where the star washer fits in. Wut should i do, get another stock so it can break again?

any ideas?

replace it with a Malossi! If you did not tighten it enough, it could loosen a little, and then get "pinched" and shatter...... How did you tighten it? With an impact gun? You can also use "removable blue" loktite.

You should heat up the performance one when u get it and get it red hot......then dip it in oil thats what did to mine and it works fine

I tightend it with an impact gun at 80 psi, and when it broke the variator nut was still torqued down, just the finned pulley was loose and wobely. I think the washer slipped out of its place in the finned pully and just broke from stress because the finned pully was grinded a little where the washer sits in it.

I was thinking and i remembered that bout couple days before it broke, i was drifting, doing donuts, and doing burnouts in the snow. Could this be part of the issue?
