I am currious I have a piaggio typhoon 50 converted to a 70cc Malossi, I noticed yesterday my back tire has cracks is dry rot, so was looking online for replacment tires, what I have now is Michelin Reggae 120/90-10, did a search for a set like this and found a pair that was the same except the rear tire was 130/90-10, the guy said were for his zuma , I am wondering why the differant size there, if I put that 130 on mine I am assuming the 130 is tallness of the tire just slighty, wouldn't that give me a little more top end, having the same size in the front would keep the speedo correct? This is just my thought, but I am not sure at all would like some advice before I buy. Also I put 22psi in what I have now what is normal tire pressure for a scooter? Mine says 26psi max.

dont get the reggae tires, find some kind of street tires, stay away from the knobby type. the street ones work a whole lot better.

Tell me if you know my stock tire is 120/90-10 , if I kept the same size on the front and put a 130/90-10 in the back would it hurt the performance or make it better? I am assuming 130 is the tallness of the tire, I am just not sure.

I went out and bought tools to do this tire change myself, Ut OHHH not such a great idea at all, I broke a rachet just trying to take the rear lug nut off , went out and bought the proper socket, then had to go out and get a 1/2 inch rachet to fit the socket, got some tire irons after driving all over town trying to find the right ones for the job, well finally got the rear nut loose after my wife held the front of the scooter while I about jumped on the wrench. Was hoping I wouldn't have to remove the muffler but just my luck had to do that too. Im pretty frustrated now, bought one of those inserts to let the air out of the tire fast, worked for hours with two tire irons a big screw driver and a malat hammer trying to get a grip on the tire so could pry it off the rim. OH WEll I realised this was way to much work while I am soaking wet and getting nowhere, I go to a pawn shop that had alot of scooters outside, asked the mechanic if he would change my tire , took him an hour to start on it but he said will do it for 20.00, Hmmmm OK I agreed thinking is a little high for a tire change, well he left and came back 45 minutes later all wet and didn't look to happy, he said If I want the other one done it will be 35.00, hmmmm I said ok, took my tire home and put it on, think I will do the front later and take it to some other dummy who will agree to install it for 20.00 or less. Point is I have done all the work to my scooter , but I would advise most all just pay somone else to change your scooter tire's is way to much of a headache to do yourself without the proper tool to break it free from the rim.

In reply to your original question, the 130/10 x 10 tire is 10mm wider than your stock tire (a little more than 1/4 inch) It can be installed on your rim and it will just sit a little taller is all. You might gain about 1mph top speed out of it but otherwise not notice any difference.
