I guess most here have small-displacement scooters, and they're perfect in certain applications. I realize there's a certain satisfaction to tweaking every little increase out (plus giving you great mechanical skills). I also realize the initial cost issue. And working around moped/motorcycle license laws.
But that aside (if yours is a small scooter), have you found it limiting? Wished you'd looked around more or saved a little longer for something bigger? Maybe limited on where you can legally travel due to minimum speed laws? For about 50% more than a Vino Classic, you can get a Vino 125 with 150% greater displacement. I'm sure y'all have talked this out or at least mulled it over, so I'd appreciate knowing your thoughts.

the single reason I bought mine was my 4 year old can legally sit on the back of my zuma... Even a 250cc motorcycle he couldn't reach the foot peg...
I got exactly what I wanted then made it BAD As Heck! Via almost $2000 in add on parts!
I'm any CC licensed and have attended basic and advanced motorcycle courses...
So no issues there...
I also like the fact that I can smoke some cars off the line... I find it funny when people get into the outside lane at a light (where it merges into 1 lane after the light) and I smoke them and they have to get behind me again! I love that STUPID LOOK THEY HAVE! Duh... WTF just happened!
you know...
and that was pre-over range, polini "for race" exhaust, and a new cylinder (which isn't here yet)...
Can't wait to ride it again after winter...

Opus.I think this is generally a 2-stroke forum..(Although I,m sure some members have a secret 4-stroke in thier garage that they A'int tellin about ;) ) I think part of the Fun factor in the 2-stroke thing is seeing what someone else has done with their scoot..kinda like walking around the room in Chemistry class..They are also kinda finicky sometimes..and when we get it Tweaked "Just Right"...there is a huge personal satisfaction ..plus Bragging rights......In My opinion..4 -stroke owners mostly just ride..and don't do much of the work themselves..Hence..they can't say much about their scoots...except what their Mechanic told them.. Check a scooter owners hands first..before asking about the size of Engine....9 out of 10 times the grubby mitts are 2-Stroke..Oh....the speed range of 35-70mph is fast enough for me :D Ok I Waxed on enough!! Welcome BTW..John

I found my stock vino VERY limiting. I then added a stage 1 kit, this gave me a lil more umph on long roads, but I'm a snail on take off! This could be fixed by bolting on a 70cc kit, then I'd have great acceleration and top end. But who the hell wants to do all that!?!?! I just wanna ride my damn scooter!!! If I were to do it again, I woulda just bought a vino125 and customize it with the readily available cosmetic mods.
Tiny 2-strokes are great, but stock, they'er worthless. If your worried about "limitations", the hassle-free solution would be to get a larger engine scooter. Your scoot would be fast, reliable, and still under warranty. I have not limits with my mojito 150, I've even hit the freeway on that baby!
If you do want bragging rights, as alotta the guys on this forum like to share  , all scoots have mods no matter what engine size or type. 190cc for vespas, jap blinkers for vino125, crome crash bars for a mojito, ect ect.
