View Full Version : Stupid Exhaust doesn't want to mount

Today I am having a horrible day.

I assembled the motor completely, so that is a plus. I tried to install my new air filter on the new large carb, but of course that doesn't want to fit because the frame is in the way. But that is not really my problem. I could possibly order a curved air filter that will fit (hopefully) or I can just run a straight carb w/o a filter and a large jet to compensate.

I was actually going to start my scooter today since I assembled the whole motor. So I try to mount the exhaust to the cylinder and the #$#$)(*# thing doesn't want to mount. I was trying to get it to fit for like 2 hours. It seems like the holes are not aligning! One bolt fits fine but the other one doesn't want to fit. Both holes are like this it doesn't matter which one.

Lennox did you possible have this problem?

I just want to kill someone, I am so pissed. Stupid little things like this just infuriate me.

ok, the CH cylinder must be a tad off, I had the same problem... What I ended up doing was bolting the pipe to the cylinder first (take your time, get someone to help hold it) then slowly bending the pipe, I MADE it fit! After doing it, I realized that I could have cracked the welds, so I would recomend making some sort of adapter, or altering the stock bracket a bit.... hope this helps ya?
