Hey,
OK so I have a Tank, and haven't been able to find in any forums on here if there are any mods I can do to make it go faster. I wanna boogie on it! ..dance.. :race:
What I'd ideally like to make happen is increase its acceleration, but I'm not so sure that's entirely possible.
Has anyone heard of how to do this to my Tank??
Thanks!! :)

You could install larger 3.5X10 tires to help with top speed, The newer vino 4 stroke parts may fit since your engine is a 4stroke, but im not sure about that, if the engine was the same you can get a exhaust pipe, and a engine kit, but ive heard the gains are minimal for the high price of the parts.

true... I'll check out the parts for that vino to see if it would be compatible.
what would you do to increase acceleration in any other scooter? just outta curiosity..

If the Tank has a GY6 engine, I'm fairly certain Vino 50cc upgrades would not fit. And according to those in the know, the upgrade kit performance improvement for the 4 stroke is not worth the money.

Hey, I'm a new tank urban 50 scooter myself. Bought it new from a nice guy in Hollywood... Let me know if you bought it from him.
I have been able too make quite a discovery that might help you greatly!!!
If you start the scooter with the remote start, without the key in the machine and the run lever to off (located just above the start button. Then, once it's started turn the key to on and switch the run lever on.
This somehow derestricts the engine, call me crazy!!!
I'm in possesion of a ET 2 Vespa right now and I bought the identicle Tank on 4 of July. Couldn't get it over 30. Then a buddy of mine kept starting with the remote switch and he was up to 48 in no time... I couldn't keep up with a two stroke Vespa!!!
Scratching head... for awhile... figured out that the remote start is somehow bypassing a CDI that I haven't found yet...
Also found an air restriction right in front of the air filter. Sort of four holes in a rubber plug attached to a rubber extension at the inlet of the air filter...
Removed the whole stub and plug; let the other tube that was attached just dangle.
Anyways I weigh close to 280 and I've had it over 40!!!
Now I've ordered a kevlar belt some lighter roller weights from Dr. Speed and hopefully that will help with accelleration... takes a little while to get to 40...
a bit slow from 28 to 34, but it kicks in like a weak turbo after that. Sounds cool too.
I've also been using 93 octane... got a 102 mpg on the first tank!!
Let me know if this works for you too...

WOW no kidding!! starting w/ the remote start just completely bypasses it eh?? no lie i know i haven' thad the scooter long at all but i was thinking about selling it, as i feel like i don't ride it often enough to justify owning it :/ but i'll give that remote start a go before i do!!
bout the gas mileage.. i just filled it with regular, and i got about 75 mi on one tank... why would premium reallly make THAT big of a difference?? obviously it does if you got 102!! but I dunno about those things really, i'm just curious lol.
i also bought mine from a guy in hollywood... right out of his garage. he told me and my bf that apparently he used to be in the biz but him and his partner had a falling out and they split up the scooters and now are selling whatever they have left privately. what color did you get?? that'd be crazy if we got it from the same guy!

That's the same guy I got mine from, can't remember his name... I bought mine July 04 2008. Mine is blue and it has a few scratches on the left side, nothing that a few stickers wouldn't cover up.
Definitely use 93 octane it will help.
Today I changed the belt to a kevlar belt and some 6 gram Dr. speed roller weights into the Tank and man what a difference... accellaration is much better and even I got over 45 mph on it... I weigh 280.
If you're thinking of selling it contact me at goulies@bellsouth.net my wife really wants the pink one...

I'd switch to synthetic for the motor/trans, that helped my zuma alot going up hill.
Not really a mod, but you'll benefit from it.
