I've heard they are "race" pipes when they are made this way but what is the point of the
"spring mount" on race pipes?
So my polini "for race" pipe has a spring mount... seriously whats it supposed to do compaired to a regular pipe?
for those who don't know what I'm talking about I'll post a pic in the morning...

If im thinking right then maybe its for easy removel if you need to remove the exhaust for some reason.

Maybe I'm wrong..But do the Racing scooters use stock..Non-Reinforced frames?..Maybe this for Frame Flex...Now they do THROW the scoots back and forth into the turns..(Read...Knee pad scrapes)...Just a Thought...John ;)

I'm thinking it must be for flex as well.. Nothing else makes since...
Here is a pic of the mount...
you can see it still bolts on but looks as thought the mount is attached via the spring...

the spring was already on mine, THANKS GOD... it looks tight as heck...
I'm hoping the thing will seal with it on there! Guess I'll have to try it out...

3 things Flex, easy tire changes, and easy cleaning of carbon.
and DO NOT worry Jered, the carbon will seal that baby up in no time!

I picked it up on Provo's eBay account... for $158.00
Got a pretty good price as that's about what his cost should have been!

So when I mounted this... at first I was like "OMFG" this stupid thing isn't anywhere near the right mount!
but then I realized that the spring mount basically holds the mount to the exhaust... so it will pull out if I take the spring off.
anyway, I just simply spun the pipe till it was in the correct position... Was easier than my ZX to mount and looks better! IMO anyway, I like the clear finish better than the chrome...
Also, just an FYI for you guys who get into the "race exhaust" you need to be careful when ordering these to verify there are no exhaust issues with the center stand! I had my side stand on order so it wasn't a problem but the center stand hit the polini "for race" pipe I installed... good thing I had the side stand on the way...
Another neat thing about the "for race" pipe, is that the muffler/silencer can be mounted at any position... so I'm not stuck with the exhaust blowing onto the pipe like the ZX pipe I had... which the chrome got nasty easy from the 2-stroke oil splattering on it all the time!
