So you all know, went to Yamaha in NYC to buy Transmission Oil. Took in my owners manual and asked for the SAE 85w140 tranny oil that Yamaha stipulates in the owners manual. My mechanic showed me the 2008 Yamaha shop manual, and this clearly states to use 10w30 SE or GL tranny oil, same as the 2005 shop manual. He rides a 2008 Zuma and states that this is a misprint and although it would work, would not work well. He stated that he would emphatically NEVER put such a wieght in his or any customers tranny. So now you know.
P.S. - I tried to get him e-mail me the 2008 shop manual and he said he couldnt. I aslo tried to bribe him but he said he couldnt. Oh well! At least I tried to get it for us.
