Its about time! The crummy 4t engine has been around nearly 4 years with no aftermarket support....

Unlike the 2t cylinder kits, you're not likely to see as dramatic of an increase in speed or power with the 4t cylinder kit. It will help, but it won't be doing any 60mph...

these have been available for almost as long!

but, like you say, they are hardly worth doing on a 4t.

The Classic is a very good little scooter. The more I ride mine the better I like it. But 60 mph on a Classic, no thanks, I wouldn't want to even try it. However adding another 10-12 mph top end would certainly improve the scooter.
Skrapiron:"crummy 4t engine" Actually it is a very good engine and have you ever considered there are people who don't want to mess with mixing gas and oil.
Lennox" hardly worth doing on a 4t" Do you speak of first hand knowlege? Do you know anyone who has done it?
Tsk Tsk, the Harley mentality and discouraging comments don't become you fellas.

no offense meant, just saying that the increased cc's wouldn't be as noticeable as it would on a 2t. Maybe I should have a little more clear. :o

Go back and read the threads about the 150cc and 160cc kits for the 125... the added cc's were negligible in performance gains.

No problem... I wouldn't even know what kind of increase the upgrade will give. I doubt if the Mfgr would even know. Perhaps someone will install one and let us know. Actually I posted the upgrade information for other Classic owners who might be interested. I really haven't decided if I am even going to get an upgrade. I have thought about it, but it all boils down to cost vs results, plus I haven't convinced myself that I really need the extra speed.

Lennox did a better job explaining than I did. The actual gains will be minimal compared to what you would see if you did the same thing with a 2 stroke Vino 50.

A 70cc 4 stroke produces far less power than a 70cc 2 stroke.

for the price of the upgrade, you may as well get a 125 or 150 cc scooter. Doesn't seem cost effective at all.

If you bought the kit and put it in yourself, and if you got even a 25-35% increase in performance from the Classic - I would think it would be worth the $350. But it was posted on another site that Jiang stated the kit is not worth it. So as far as I am concerned that settles the issue.

If it performs like other cylinder kits on the market, the actual gains are between 5 and 15%.

Alot of people mistakenly believe that if they put on 30% larger cylinder, they can expect 30% more power. Unfortunately, thats not true.

If I take the mean at 7.5% I would only gain approx 3 mph top end. I might gain that with a windshield for a whole lot less money. I'm not interested in going 60 mph. I ride on several streets where the speed limit is 45 and would just like to get my Vino up around 45-47 mph but it doesn't look like the kit would do the job and would be way too expensive for a retired Dude like me.
