I installed the piston for the 70CC kit and the little circlips are a Beep #$#$#%$#. I hate those things.

I can't get the shroud off to get to the oil pump. I bought some penetrating lube and gonna spray it tonight on the screws and go at it in the morning.

what are you taking the oil pump off for? did you get a MHR team or Polini EVO cylinder with a racing crank or something.

I am disabling it, I am going to go premix.

no one said you have to....

IMO I would.. I personally did... That way I know how much oil is getting to my cylinder for sure...

No one EVER (here to my knowledge) has ever said you HAVE to...

The oil pump disable is a personal preference mod...

I personally would rather know for sure I'm getting enough oil... as myself and lennox have messed up cylinders with not enough oil while using the injector method...

to each their own...

yeah, no one ever said it is mandatory.... but, I pre-mix and feel more comfortable doing so!

I simply disabled it by removing the gear from the pump...

You can also remove it completely but you need to make a block off plate...

Some of the guys on the yahoo forums say to use a credit card and cut it top fit... IMO that's pretty lame as a long term fix... I'd use metal but it would take some fabrication effort...

yes, I now use mine as a paperweight.... the credit card thing is fine... the only reason you need a block off is to keep out dust, although there is nothing in that part of the case to get ruined. The magneto is separated from that section with a gasket....

Okay...

I was cleaning out my box of old parts and ran into something interesting!

This came with my AIRSAL CYLINDER!

It says...

"IMPORTANT

If you change your carburator to a bigger one, please delete the lubrication pump. Use synthetic oil 3% to assure the right proportion of oil that your engine needs"

I can scan the paper if you don't believe this but apparently someone did say that you "MUST" delete the oil pump!

According to what the above statement says that Airsal says it's okay to use the oil pump on a motor with a stock carb and their 70cc cylinder... however if you change to a "larger carb" you need to change to a premix setup!

I didn't read this little yellow slip of paper that came with my kit... Maybe it would have save me and lennox our cylinders! OOPS!

What do you think I should do. I have a 24MM carb with a new intake manifold, you think I should remove the oil pump?

I already disabled the oil pump, it is just sitting in there now. I do not see what harm it can do to just sit in there.

After thinking about it, I think they mean to just disable it.

yeah... just disable it... all it is after you disable it is a plug to keep the engine case sealed...
