Transported,now won't start

I trailered my son's '03 to his new apartment (100 mi), unloaded it and tried to start it. I couldn't get it to fire using the starter or the kick starter. The tank was about 1/4 full and I did notice some gas on the floor of the trailer. My son added gas and later tried again-still wouldn't start. My very limited mechanical skill have now been "taxed to the max". Any ideas from someone with greater skills (and that's just about everyone!), would be appreciated.

Start simple and cheep, install a new spark plug and let us know.

I passed your message along to my son. He just called me back...the spark plug wire had come off. It's running now. Thanks for the tip!
