I have got my 05 zuma running somewhat right no, but when I ride it it is slow untill 10mph then it takes off really good. What can I do to fix that? I installed the techno variator and my delta clutch yesterday. I am using my silver weights in the variator the torque spring that came with it and in the delta clutch it has the springs that came in it. I think they are white. I have some red springs for it too. Should I have a shim behind the torque spring? I am wanting to set it up with the most torque for wheelies.

you how to know how many grams you got in your pulley and you should use the weakest clutch springs you have. also do you have a bore kit and pipe on your bike. you can do wheelies on a stock bike, you just have to learn the powerband of the bike and learn how to pull up. even the best race set ups the guys pull up to do wheelies at high speeds, the bikes dont just come up on there own at 40 and 50mph plus.

When you say pulley do you mean the variator? I thought if I was using weak clutch springs it would allow the clutch to engage sooner. It is almost like the clutch is engaging to soon now. I have got a bb Kit, Pipe, reeds, 19mm carb, delta clutch, techno variator, finned clutch bell and the kevlar belt

I'm having the same issues. I'd like to know how to correct it too. :) I've tried adjusting my Polini Clutch, it seems like I can't find the perfect setting to get rid of the under 10mph lag. Almost like a turbo lag, then the thing comes on hard.

is your bike revving clean off of the bottom. you guys might want to try lighting up your weights. just say if you are using 25grams then try to go 24grams. even 1 gram diff makes a big diff when tuning the tranny. if your clutch is coming on too soon try stronger springs. i had that same 10mph lag when i was using a metra kit handmade pipe but when i switched to a polini 4race it was gone. just keep a record of your tranny set so you can repeat it everytime you tune.

 I tried adjusting my clutch all the way out on my delta clutch with the white springs it still bogged. so I left it adjusted out and put the red springs on it bogs untill about 7mph then it goes. It had better acceleration after 10mph when I had the white springs on and it adjusted two notches out. I am using the lightest weights that came with my variator. Any ideas what else to do?

you need lighter weights than came with the techno variater....

The Stock roller weights on the Zuma are 6.5g

The techno vari kit comes with 3 different sets of roller weights

The silver ones = 3.5 g
The Black ones = 5.5 g
The brass ones = 9 g

These are the weights naked. Add 1.7g after fitted in the caps.

I drilled out the silver ones to get 2.1 g naked. This made a huge difference.

The "off the line umf" is way better now. this is pulled from one of my earlier posts, and does not apply to the stroker...

I will drill them out at work tommorow if I get a chance. What clutch springs should I be using. I had better acceleration with the white ones and the clutches adjusted two notches out. But then it bogged worse

with the Airsol/Techno setup I THINK I had the best results with blue? springs... been through so many combos I forget....

Does erich sell the blue springs? Are you still wanting to trade rims with me?

I want your black rims...

Or wait... I don't...

Doesn't matter to me they are the same less a black powder coat right?

I know lennox really really wants black rims though...

Yeah thats all it is is a powder coat. Do you know if erich sells the blue springs for the delta clutch?

get yourself a pack of weights. you should be able to find the big pack of weights that range from 2grams all the way to 12grams. in that set there are 3 of each size. that is plenny to fine tune a bike. you should be able to find that weight set at the place you get your parts from

I have tried different weights in the variator and different springs in the clutch and it is still bogging untill about 10. I put the red springs on and adjusted my clutch all the way out and it only bogged until about 7mph but then it didnt feel like it had the acceleration it had with the white springs in it. I have got the lightest weights that came with the variator in it now. I havent had a chance to drill them out or grind the tabs on my variator. will either of them help with the bogging? Any ideas of what else I can do.

only grind half the tabs off the vari, and that will give you more umf...... the lighter weights will also.....

if you do those two things, then you should be happy....

have you tried leaning out the bottom end on your carb. what might be your problem is that its too rich right off idle. maybe you should raise your clip on your needle.
