I have purchased the stage 1 upgrade in addition to the Polini clutch for my 6,500 mile zuma. I love my zuma and really enjoy riding it. However, after replacing the belt and the variator and the clutch it still only moves like 10 mph and feels like everything is not catching properly.
I refuse to take it to the dealer since I have taken it apart like 4 times already and have learned a ton.
HELP! Any ideas on how to fix this would be welcome.

do you have any weights to play with and any springs for your clutch. also what polini clutch do you have, a 4race or 2G speed.

I've got all the weights. I put the lightest ones in, and I have the Polini 2G.

what grams are your lighest weights. the 2G clutch is a very high performance clutch and works with very high revs. it sounds like your clutch springs might be too stiff and not letting your clutch open all the way to engage the clutch bell. you can loosen up your clutch spings buy turning the 2 nuts and that might help.

I think they are like 4 grams and I have the stock ones as well as 6grams 7grams .
What would you suggest weight wise?
How loose should I make the cluth?
the weird part is that the scooter is reacting the same way as when I had the original clutch in their with really tight springs. So maybe you are right.
Hopefully I did not waste $300.00 + $100.00 for a new clutch. For a scooter that doesnt freaking work. It is pretty frustrating but I am willing to hang in there and keep trying stuff.
I hope the gains I get are worth it. I also forgot to mention I bought the Leo Vinci exhaust as well.

try to loosen the clutch as loose as you can without making the 2 nuts too loose that they can back off the springs. you would have gotten more gains from your $300 if you would have gotten a bore kit if you dont already have one.

you want light weights to start with and if it works well with the lightest ones... stick with them.. normally the heavy ones make it bog really bad...

Well it turns out I got the wrong clutch, so Erich has been nice enough to send the correct clutch. Can't wait!
