Hello fellow scooter owners....

I just bought my very first scooter, a 2001 Vino 50cc's. I am on a itty-bitty teeny-tiny fixed income so I couldn't afford a lot. Of course, you get what you pay for :(
My new scooter is so cute but has she had an enormous boo-boo on her (at least I think it's a she) fender. The fender is black. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement fender at a reasonable price? What do you think the chances are a little old lady could install it herself? Other then hanging a picture or two, I have never done anything mechanical myself, hum, once I took apart a chair that my son (many many years ago) had his head stuck in the back. My two kids (and 3 beautiful grandbabies) live far away, I am in Florida, they are in NY.

Also, does anyone know when you are too old to ride a scooter? I am 84 years young and in the middle of my 2nd or 3rd childhood :)

Thank you everyone for all your help...any helpers will receive homemade brownies/cookies!!! :)

Welcome to the forum! Wow I am impressed with your getting a scooter. Please be sure to ride safe, with a helmet and a protective jacket and gloves.

My solution to the boo boo would be to buy a big old bandaid sticker. That is what I did when I got a scratch on my Vino 50.

The panels are not too hard to remove, there are some instructions here on how to do it, but you do need a bit of mechanical ability.

Panels come up for sale on ebay quite a bit. So check there.

There are some ways to buff out scratches. Others here may know more about how to help with that.

Also check out urbanscootin.com for a forum with many friendly scooter riders of all ages. We had a scooter rider close to your age, maybe even older there last year.

Ride Safe & Enjoy.
