Well, no C3's for me. The dealer called me and told me that they are absolutely unable to get the C3's. The dealer says they cant even get one from Yamaha. Sounds like a load of BS to me. Then the dealer tried to sell me a freaking Vino 125. The nerve I swear!!
To top it all off, my wife and I had planned some time off for this Friday, got my hopes up. Then she cancels on me. This and the call from the dealership all in the same day!
Now I'm stuck with my stupid 25mpg car, and no scooter. And there are only 2 places in VT that sell scooters, and our car isn't good enough to go out of state. Looks like I'm not getting scooters until I can save enough money to buy them outright online.

How about checking some other Yammy dealers along the commuter train route that goes through Vermont-- -you can take the train and then rent a uhaul or other truck to bring the scoots back home. Make it a fun adventure. :)
25 mpg on a car isn't too bad.
Buying a scooter online isn't a very good idea--they are usually dealers who aren't around for long and sell poor quality cheap scooters.

Well, she (the wife) called around and found them in NY. I'd have to redo some of the credit stuff, then go all the way there to get them. At this point, I just wanna bag the whole idea lol.
Its that childish disappointment thing, where this morning I was so stoked about getting the C3's (we were supposed to have them by Monday). Then to have my hopes and dreams dashed. Roflol

LOL-- there is a woman with very limited funds on the Scooter Diva forum I frequent. She has been searching for a used scooter since early February.
Her tale of acquiring her first scooter has been quite the soap opera.. She has had too very close calls with buying used Chinese scooters...and fortunately (for her) for one reason or another the deals fell through--the scoots wouldn't start when she went to look at them.. Now In May she finally snagged a very nice used Kymco People for a good price in super condition.
Hang in there--your scooter dreams will come true, too.

I'm b0i's wife...
My work lied to me, which is no surprise and I misunderstood what I should do if they did lie to me. I'm sorry about that.
I did find a pair of '07s in Malone, NY and I'm willing to drive the U-Haul to pick them up. The guy said you'd just have to call since the financing is already worked out with Yamaha, no additional paperwork. I didn't ask for many details about the scooters, so we'd have to find out more.
Guys, can you convince him it's a good idea? Please...

Eeep! '07s had a recall for the fuel line eroding or something.

Eeep! '07s had a recall for the fuel line eroding or something. That means Yamaha will fix the problem and you'll be fine- the dealer may have already taken care of it, but check and be sure.
Get the scooters while you still can :)
and if that doesn't convince you maybe this will:

I used to own a scooter actually. About 3 years ago. It was a Chinese special. I know what scooting is all about, which is probably why I wanted another one so bad. I think we decided to wait for a while and see if any opportunity's present themselves. Lets all keep our fingers crossed yes?

Well, we ended up having to go with Mr. Smarmy. We found an awesome place even more local than the Smarmy place, but they only had one scooter. We really want a matching pair. So, we've decided to go with the Vino 125. Our car is making even worse smells today than ever before, so we are getting a tad desperate.
After we pay off the Vinos, which shouldn't take to terribly long, we'll order some C3s from the nice place. They can't get anything right now because Yamaha is prepping for the '09 stock to come out. Now, we've got to find a place to get helmets, etc. that is not giving money to the people who were jerks. We also have to get motorcycle licenses after all. The nice people told us that, it wasn't even mentioned at the other place - we even asked! So, we'll hit up the DMV Tuesday at lunch.
Wish us luck. Hopefully Mr. Smarmy will behave himself tomarrow.

try on some helmets at the smarmy dealer--see what style & type fit you. Then buy online at newenough.com or motorcycle superstore & save yourself some $$
If you were going to buy 50cc scooters, you might not need motorcycle licenses in your state. With a 125cc, you do. At least that's how it is in many places.

If you are a registered eBayer, they have some great DOT scooter helmets for very reasonable prices.

I've heard good things about the vino 125. You'll be a lot less likely to get in somebody's way on the hills as you scoot to work on one! That's probably what I'll upgrade to from my C3 (unless Yammy comes up with a 125 cc C3 in the next several yrs!) You'll find yourselves taking the long way home from the grocery! Enjoy! Gabe

I swear there's a Mister Smarmy Boutique dealership in every town now. Hope you like the Vinos...the C3s might not have been so fast on your VT hills.
