Does anyone have the buddy seat? Is it worth getting? Any complications with it i.e. bottoming out or lack of control? I want to hear your experiences. Thanks :D

I have a buddy seat on my vino classic. I haul my two sons (one at a time of course) on it. They are 9 and 11, and it works well for cruising around the neighborhood. I have tried carrying another adult with it, and to be honest it was a little scary. Very awkward to control, but once cruising speed was reached it was ok.

Yup, it's a pretty neat lil add on. If your plannin on given chicks a ride... the original seats "convienantly small". As for givin your buds a ride, I wouldn't recomend it. As Wayne said, it is kinda scary. I find the brakes to be totaly ronchy, you really need stop braking 20ft before your stop. What I found cool though, was that it fits nicely in the storage compartment!

Well remember the Vino has a max capacity of 160 so most of us are already to big for it to begin with. The Vino really is not meant to carry those loads. Still it's a nice add on.

In response to King Vino's post, the vino is rated at 160lbs for a couple of reasons. One is the suspension, which can be upgraded, bigger tires also aliviate this issue. Two the brakes, not much you can do about that one.

There is no concern with the motor, since it is used in the Zuma.

Personally, I love riding with a chick on the back, its worth the awkward ride to have a hotty clinging to you, but a dude? Come on, no dudes.

Oops, sorry I should've specified that a little more clearly, thanks bossman.

... carrying dudes... that would make it a nutty buddy seat, hehe. Seriously though, I just got mine this weekend. What a simple yet effective design... great for the occasional 'two up'. Money well spent.

I've given a buddy of mine a ride before, wasn't so akward, we hit this huge hill going down and he lost his hat on the way down, other than that, couldn't really see if I was getting any strange looks. When I used to roller blade and attempt to skateboard, all my friends had scooters so I could skitch around the neighborhood or hop on back. very scarey and akward when riding on the back of a Jog though.

I bought the buddy seat--it is very nicely made. It is more of a luxury fun item--I just use it to carry a passenger for joy rides in the neighborhood and the nearby park.::handleba

You really need to get an upgraded shock if you want to carry an adult passenger.

I just got one, thinking my girlfriend could ride with me.

Then she read a comment on my site about someone getting hit while scooting, and now she's totally not into the idea.

Having said all that, they're a cool, cheap, fun thing. Why not get one and see?

I have a Buddy seat. My girl rides with me on the back, but there r several issues.
1. When going fast or downhill the breaks really arent up for the job so you have to break real early.
2. There are no foot pegs, so when i turn my girls feet sometimes hit the ground.
3. Until you get some speed built up, the vino doesnt really handle very well.

But... its great for the short ride to the pizza shop .... and scootin around for a little fun with the wind blowing in your face. :)
I say get one!! Just remember its limitations.

Once you mod it with a stage 1 or 2 then the Vino performs even better!!

I like the buddy seat a lot. It just slides on the rack, so I can take it off when not riding with someone. The color and ticking are close to the stock seat, but not exact.
Not really noticeable unless you get close.
The one minor annoyance is that closing the seat/trunk with the buddy attached requires a little pressure.

As far as the weight limit, I weigh 220, and my wife 140, and we have been able to ride around with no problems to speak of. Though we haven't done it much.

I just received my Malossi shock and will feel much more comfortable about having us both on there once I put it on.

I wish there were foot pegs!
