Just so you guys know there is a How To (updated) on how to install a Over Range Kit...

Pretty cool... can't wait to test my scooter once spring hits! I'll be on 1 wheel for sure!

here is the HOW TO (http://www.provoscooter.com/vbull/article.php?a=33)

Does provo sell an over range kit for the 05 zuma? Will it give me more torque so I can do wheelies on it?I am finishing putting my stage two, reeds, clutch, and clutch bell on it.

Erich doesn't stock them but he can order them... I think the street price is $349.00 a little spendy but from the limited testing I have done...

HOLY CRAP! The over range ROCKS! a definate MUST HAVE if your stage 2 or better... Probably good for stage one but don't know...

Wheelie machine!

jered have you even tested that over range yet.
what the over range does is, it keeps the bottom of your bike pretty much the same when increasing the mid and top end of the bike. with the bigger rear pulley you can get more top end and with the over range front pulley the roller drop deeper into the slots and roll farther out to help quicken the revs of the bike and keep the motor pulling longer with the rollers on outer part of the pulley.

Like I said... in the 10 feet of space I have been able to TEST IT!

It pulls like a bat outta HECK! The Front wheel is VERY light and comes off the ground a little and makes for a wheelie MOSTER!

Other than that I haven't done any other TESTING!

However, from the little I have played (in my garage as the roads are covered in ICE) It's made the bottom end (WAY better than it was ever before, stock or with other parts)! and can't imagine it would hurt the upper RPM's as it's better quality parts...

I had belt slip before I couldn't get rid of and am almost sure that's not gonna happen with this kit as off the line I would bog a little and could feel the belt slip at times... and nothing like that with the Over Range kit....

Guess I don't understand the question your asking... As I said I haven't done any testing other than in a 10' area...

hahahahahaha, with just the results you got in 10' i know you cannot wait to get the bike out on the road. how many times did you play with your in the garage, i know plenny. do you have a aftermarket clutch bell, if not i bet you are going to need one when you get that bike on the road.

Why is it you cant use the electric start with the O/R kit? that is the only reason I may not order it, then again I really want to make my wheelies easy so I may vary well get one. I dont know I may wait till jered tries his out in the spring

who said that you cannot use the electric start with the over range kit? i have the polini version over range and i could have used it if i wanted too but i took that thing off, it robs h.p. you cannot use the electric start and oil injector if you get a real race crank (malossi or polini) because it doesnt have the splines like the stock crank does, its just round and smooth.

because the variator is a different part number and with the wider belt... It requires more space... you MUST remove the Gears for the starter that are on the crankshaft to make the extra room... so you are no longer able to use the electric starter...

These parts all come off... the large gear is the one from the crank shaft... the small gear is from the starter motor and the other parts all fit around those 2...

No matter what you must remove these parts or the belt will only ride 1/2 way down into the variator... causing a higher gear to start the scooter in...

That is what caused my bogging when I posted originally... After I removed the starter parts, I bumped up to the 4.8g rollers and still had amaizing power! As well, I will be changing the torque driver setting as well to the recommended setting which should make for more off the line power as well...

You must remove the starter parts shown with the malossi over range kit. I have no idea with polini set up...

notice in this pic, how the belt is right in the middle of the variator...

That's caused from having the starter gears behind the variator... with them removed as they are supposed to be... The belt sits at the very bottom of the pulley...

wow jered thats good to know. the polini evo trans is a lil diff. it takes these really big wieghts that the piaggios use. the electric starter is useless with these high compression motors anyways. toss it thats only extra wieght.

yep... my thoughts too...

unfortunately some would rather the electric start...

IMO it was unreliable anyway, didn't take much to kill the battery enough to not have enough charge to turn the cylinder over and have to kick start it anyway...

Wonder which is better performance wise? The Polini or the Malossi kits?

Do the parts differ on the polini from the stock stuff much? IE: belt, rear pulley and varator?

LOL.... I cannot even get the starter to turn over once with 105cc...... Oddly enough though, my crank is IDENTICAL to stock as far as splines go.... I coulda kept the injection, and the starter  but chose not to ;)

jered i can tell you that front pulley is a lot diff. the weights sit deeper and roll out farther, also the weights are almost twice as big as the stock yamaha weights.
lennox on that taiwan stroker parts they are very close to stock. i bet that stroker crank with the splines is not a full circle but a counter weighted crank. thats because out there they got 100 zumas, 90cc and 100cc jogs and they use those cranks to make the 50cc bikes into 100+cc strokers. my honda strokers have full circle cranks.

yeah... the local arena... isn't that big... not enought to get to 60mph in...

My building is long enough (where I work) but it's got to many turns...

as well... It did get to 45 for 2 day... and the roads were melting... it was awesome... I was thinking I might get 1 chance to make a run... but it froze later that day and didn't stay warm long enough to completely melt the ice... so I was hoping for one more day... but it didn't happen and we had snow again....

but with that being said... I wrecked a gov't truck that last day before it got cold again... there was water running over ice and I made a turn at 5 mph... and slide sideways into a fence... thank god there was a snow plow on the front or I'd have messed the truck up... the only thing that happened was the plow had a tiny tiny paint chip... they didn't even do a police report...

no worries....

Unfortuantely the real thaw doesn't come till around april... anytime before that I couldn't ride to work as the temps change so quick here it can be -20 one day and 50 the next... we have had 70 degree changes in a matter of a 24 hour period a couple times since I've been here...

and after being at -20 or -30 40 degree's and everyone is running around in shorts and t-shirts...
