I know there’s a lot of debate about spark plugs but I recently installed a NKG iridium plug (CR7EIX) It didn’t help with top end speed (I wish it would) but I notice my Vino ran a lot smoother and engine start a lot faster. It was only 7 bucks on ebay so I say is worth it…
And how come on one post anymore??!! It’s like a ghost town here now!

iridium plugs arent worth the extra cash imo, like you said it doesnt add any power or speed, unless it came with a iridium plug when it was new i was just re install the same plug, it may start easier ,and run better because you needed a new plug in the first place.

Same here. I don't have a lot of miles on my 07 Classic yet. I didn't buy it until Fall last year and North Central Illinois winters are not condusive to scooter riding. My top end right now at 400 miles odometer reading, according to a "GPS", is 37.8 mph with the Iridium plug. I never checked it with the regular plug, so I don't know if the Iridium plug helped or not. I am thinking it should get a little faster after I get past the break in mileage. 95+% of my riding is in-Town, 20-35 mph speed limits, so I am not too concerned about it, quel sera sera!

I think they are well worth it. When i was tunning my Zuma/aerox, I tried running it with 2 different Champions and it ran like poo at higher rpms. When I put the IRidium plug in, it ran ALOT smoother and let it rev higher.
Just my 2 cents.

Everything I have ever heard about Iridium sparkplugs has been positive. If they povide a more complete combustion, it has to improve performance. But I am far, far from an expert.

I've had one in my Vino 125 for well over a year & it helps with starting in the hotter weather. Also the extra cash is all of $7 or $8 --- it will last much much longer than a regular plug. Seem like a wise investment to me.

not only will it last longer but it starts the engine faster, taking wear off of the starting components and making them last longer.

Like Carlos I too am not claiming to be an expert, I just notice it start a lot easier than before but hribridrazz also has a point, it might just be because the plug it's new.
All i care is it make be happy and we are only talking about 7 bucks per plug and only one plug... How much is the original plug anyway? anyone know?

Here take this pill
It will make you think you are stronger faster and you can jump higher as well

My theory is how can it produce any more spark then the stock plug with the same ignition coil, and same stock coil wire powering it. I dont dispute that they may last longer though.

yeah your right
I have done dyno tests on kart engines
and while you can get some benefit with plugs its not they type you put in more in the angle you align them at
But if Iridium makes you feel good
then on one is goign to stop you

This is the Iridium Plug Claim - Straight off the Internet
Iridium Spark Plugs
Iridium is a precious, silver-white metal and one of the densest materials found on earth. The natural properties of Iridium offered NGK the opportunity to create one of the world's finest spark plugs. The result are spark plugs that require less voltage to spark, burns fuel more efficiently, sparks at leaner air/fuel mixtures, and delivers higher horsepower and better gas mileage.
Making false claims is against the Law.

I've always put iridiums and they are so-so. The advantage is that the spark is more concentrated (more powerful at a smaller point). For a scooter it's 7$ more. So it doesn't matter that much. I use some in my Super Modded Mazda MX3 1994. They helped me start up the new engine even if the air fuel ratio is way off cause I don't have the good ECU. So for 7$ I think they are worth it, for 7$ times 6 for a car it's more of a waste of money if you don't race.
For those of you who wonder what a modded MX3 engine looks like, here's mine. (Home-made) It's the last pic in my Garage.
