Okay, finally the non-mechanical incline dad had his army mechanic son helped him to replaced the 2-stroke oil to syntethic. We took the oil tank, emptied, and poured one quart of syntethic oil. We also installed the battery, and ran in place the scooter for approximately 15 minutes. Here is my question, the scooter bogs down the first 10 minutes or 15 minutes when the motor gets warm. (Not constantly, if I idle it 1/4 of throttle tries to bogs down a few times. I bought the stage 1 from Provo, and got the parts installed by the Yamaha dealer. It only bogs down the first 10 or 15 minutes when first start it. The scooter won't shut down if I let the throttle alone. But as soon as I give some gas at the beginning some times it tries to shut down. But as I stated before, after 15 minutes or more and the motor is warm, this problem does not do happen anymore. What it could be the problem? This problem started after stage 1 installation a month ago. Any suggestions? I also had installed the kevlar belt. Why only the first 10 or 15 minutes this problem arises and after that everything is runs fine.

sounds like you have the same problem as malformed...

the rollers and torque spring need to be tuned to work correctly with your set up...

Try different roller weights and different torque springs...

Which ever works best... that's the one to go with...

Jered,

But why this malfunction does happen for the first 10 or 15 minutes when warming up the scooter in the morning? After that the scooter runs fine....

Sounds like auto-choke issue to me since the problem clears when the scooter is warm.

I think everything will be fine and if it bothers you too much you can install a manual choke, however you are not hurting anything with the setup you have.

(Don't take this as gospel until someone 2nd's me on this..)

I had the issue with the auto choke.. I ordered a manual choke from provo...

Mine likes to die at idle... not bog down...

I don't lnow why it would do it in the 1st 10 minutes and not after... other than the engine not being warm and taking more for it to work?

Donno, just a thought?

A few months ago after the dealer finished stage 1 installation, I noticed that the scooter was bogging down when cold (first 15 minutes). Well we thought it was probably the auto choke. This weekend I found the problem, I replaced my factory spark plug with a new one (300 miles on the scooter), and bingo, the scooter started right away and did not bog down at all. I did not ride the scooter but at least after starting, the scooter stayed on for 15 minutes. I also had the air filter cleaned and lubricated. Was an easy process for both items. I cannot wait until the weather is nice to test drive it. o_o
