So my parts came in today, and I am still waiting on the plugs and belt.
Well my Koso Manifold came in and it came with a Reed Cage assembly. I also ordered the Polini Big Valve Kit. So my question is should I leave the Koso Reed Cage Assembly or should I put the Polini Kit on?

doesn't the polini kit come with the reed cage and valves? Why did you order 2 of them?
anyway, they probably will make no difference with either of them...

I was asking about the intake manifolds before and was recommended the "Polini Big Valve Kit". Since I was asking about intake manifolds, I figured that the valve kit was the intake manifold. So when I ordered it I recieved the reed cage with no intake manifold. Then after doing some research the intake manifold is a different part number from polini.
So I called Cycle Imports asking if they had the Polini intake manifold. THey were out of stock on the Polini manifold but George recommened the Koso. He said that he likes it better and that I should see better results. So I ordered that.
So now i have a Koso Intake Manifold w/ Reed Cage Assembly and a Polini Big Valve Kit which is just the Reed Cage Assembly.

i have the polini big valve too but it didnt fit my jog ( it hit the frame on my bike) so i used a taiwan intake with the polini reed cage. it worked out good for me. to me the koso one looks better and is bigger, i might try that one on my new set, or run the euro set up with the carb facing the rear of the bike and a racing airbox in the helmet compartment.

So the Polini Intake Manifold didn't fit the jog?

The Polini Reed Cage looks a lot better then teh Koso One. THe Polini Reeds are nice and sturdy. While the koso ones are see through?
I think I am going to go with the Polini Reed Cage on the Manifold.

that will work. the polini manifold made my carb stick up a lil bit too much so the carb would not fit without cutting a small part off of my frame. the reason the koso reeds are see through is because they are fiberglass and the polini ones should be carbon fiber. either way you go you should get more power out of your bike. what other plans do you have on doing to your bike

Well I am going to need a variator kit.
I am thinking about one of those computers that gets rid of the RPM limit. Whatever those are.
I am alos trying to figure out what the over range kit is.

i dont know what those comp things do. i have a 93 jog and a 2000 zuma that never had any restrictions on them. before you get into the electronics get some performance parts to see if you even need electronics. i see that you say that you are goin to need a front pulley, whatever you do just make sure you get the best one you can afford. make sure its a race pulley. the polini evo ( the one with the big piaggio weights ) and the malossi over range front is also good. i suggest you get one those and that way you can match up a bigger rear later on if you decide to go over range. do you even have a bore kit, if so what kind.

okay... wow....
Since I have the over range... I'll clear it up real quick...
The over range comes with a malossi multivar, identical part number for the over range and the stock set up...
So the "over range variator" is the same part as a stock replacement...
The parts that are different are the belt, which is thicker and a little longer... and the rear pulley has about 1/2" more diameter on it... That's it... basically it's supposed to give you more low end power... I can't test mine yet as it's dead winter and won't thaw till april or so...
The "electronics" is the CDI unit... it is a stock replacement part that IMHO makes it idle better and also works better at high RPM's... there are some that are limited and some that have no rev limiter... basically you need to know the max power RPM's for your set up and go from there... a limited one can make more power if tuned to your set up...
I personally prefer the malossi variator to the technomoto one but that's just me...
WOW talk about off topic...

i have the polini version of the over range tranny. my front pulley takes the bigger weights like the piaggio bikes. the only thing that i really noticed about the bigger trans vs the reg trans is that with the over range the bike likes to rev more. thats it. i didnt really notice anything else.

I have a C.M. Racing 70CC bore kit. It comes with an aluminum head and iron cylinder. Lennox has the same one as I do.

What would be better the fiberglass reeds or the Carbon Fiber reeds?

carbon fiber should be stronger...
Fiber glass isn't the be4st materials IMO... I think I'd rather have the original steel ones instead... but if they did break the motor would just eat them... so it won't hurt to run the glass ones.
For the over range... the variator on the malossi over range is idenitical... the variator uses stock size rollers...

Well I think I am going to go with the Polini Reed Cage and Koso Manifold and then sell the Koso Reed cage.
Where did you get teh Malossi Over Range kit, provo?

Yep- He got it from Provo- $349 I think it is. Email Erich (sales@provoscooter.com) and he can tell you how much with shipping and all that fun stuff.

actually I got it for a different price but we won't go there... anyway...
Yes I got it at provo and If you find it for a price somewhere and think it's better than what provo sells them for... email him and ask for a price match on it... Erich's been great with them for me...
anyway... I did get it though provo and the prices I've seen them listed for on the internet are between $349 and $379... Rather expensive but it is a part that is designed for "heavy modded" scooters to be able to keep the low end power with out the problems of belt slip and such that I was experiencing with the stock type set up...
Basically it allows the RPM's to get to max power before it kicks in the rear wheel where the stock set up wouldn't allow this to happen...
This keeps getting off topic! LOL!
