I can't wait till all my things get here. They should be here this week. I can then finally start modding the zuma.

Maybe I should go take it apart now?

You may as well get started. Takes time to get all of those godzilla-tightened machine screws loose. Some may need drilling. I've replaced them all with stainless hex heads.

I need to do the same... Did they make them with silly putty? man they're soft!

I'm still waiting for my kevlar belt and clutch springs *cough cough*... hopefully Erich will ship them soon!

Well I didn't upjet the scooter again from the 122 size jet. It has been cold and we keep getting snow showers here in the windy city. When it is cold I don't feel like going into the garage to mess around with the scooter.

Possibly in the next few weeks it will get warm. Then It will be running nicely.

On the good note I did call the shop that I bought my carb from and told them about my carb "problem", about the vacuum not working. The nozzle that is by the fuel nozzle is not a vacuum nozzle. The carb I have does not have a vacuum nozzle. It is some air nozzle. So my vacuum problem was not a problem after all. :dunce:

I just installed one. My jets 115-125 arrived yesterday, and I hope to finish tuning today (yeah, right). My best guess is 120 main/needle one lean/45 pilot is gonna be paydirt for me, but we'll see. Love the carb. Kicks butt even with the jetting off.

I was wrong. 125 main and this thing screams.

I currently have a 122 in mine and it shows lean still on the spark plug.

Mine runs good on the 122, but a whole lot better with the 125. You need the 45 pilot. It comes with 42 installed.

Pinky... methinks thou shalt never be done tuning. At least me hopes not! ;)

This carb change was worth it. The scooter truly shags posterior now. I just had some tourists whooping and hollering. Came away from the light at about 12K, front wheel bouncing, C16 screaming. Gotta admit, it's sweet.

Where did you purchase the Pilot jets?

My carb came with several of them. Jets are easy to get. Anything for a Keihin 28PWK fits the OKO. Sudco.com has the biggest stock of Keihin (and Mikuni) stuff. That's where I got bigger mains. They also have the parts to do a cable choke properly. Mine is customized, but I ordered the real stuff. Check the exploded diagram on their website.

I am guessing the "Slow Jet" is the pilot jet?

What is the part number for the pilot jet on our carbs? On the diagram the picture looks sorta like:

VM28/486

They're the 99101-357 series, but if you tell them 28PWK they'll know. Don't know if I'll ever get this carb dead-on. As my engine warms, the mixture leans quite a bit. Getting just the right balance on the bottom is tough. Wish I had a couple of needles, one taper each way, but that's probably just being obsessive. Runs great, just not perfect.

Oops! I was reading my illegible notes. The pilot/slow jets are N424-21 series.

I was surfing yesterday and I found a site that sold some needles for the carbs. I will PM you the link when I get home.
