MD is looking to offset budget woes by raising basic motorcycle safety training from 100 to 250 bucks. This is a terrible idea since most newbies are your 16-21 years olds many of whom just used their summer job pay to over the 400 bucks it costs to get their auto license. Since motorcycle training is not mandatory for a license, this is going to lead to more unexperienced riders out there, most of who will have no training whatsoever. Looks to be a sad day for the two wheeled rider, more inexperienced riders overall will reflect poorly on the scooterist as well as motorcyclist as accidents will increase dramatically. Many of the kids in my club said the 100 was a stretch for them, but they manged, I know a lot of them aren't going to plop down two and a half times that, when it's not required.
