I did this about a month ago but never posted up my results so let me recap and show yall what I did.

This is how my case cover looked before when I had a lot of 1/4in holes drilled on both pulley sides:

In the need for more cooling, I decided to put this (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?function=Search) hole saw kit I bought from harborfreight to work, drilling 5-6 1-1/2" overlapping holes and rounding off the peaks with a dremel. And here are the results:

Benefits are:
+Even more cooling than before
+Belt condition easily visible, better pics would show this but you can see right through when looking at the cover head on
+Belt dust is blown right through, keeping insides cleaner

good job but brah you have to square off those edges to make it look better.

Werdd haha I was going too but.. my dremel was almost out of juice and wasn't making much progress lol

I ended up just smoothing each edge so theres no sharp points, and I'm okay with that. Functional is my thing, aesthetics come second :p

At that point you could almost shave the fins off the pulley!

Don't really see a benefit from that.. They help push the air through and don't cause any noticible drag.

Can you ride in the rain with those holes ?

Why would I ride it in the rain? lol..

Short answer no, but mostly because I wouldnt want to. Being the open filter is completely exposed and the fact that I don't ride in the rain anyway.

"could" I? Sure.. :spiny:

put some wire screen on it, least you get a rock in there! that would suck,
polly just come out the rear hole just as fast it went in... just a thought
