Well guys, just wanted to say it doesn't pay to speed. The other day I got caught speeding. Was goin 55mph in a 45mph zone. To make the story short, I got ticket worth 355 big ones!
Soooo, children the moral of this story is..... if you get caught speeding, book it!!! High-tail outta there! We drive quick nimble scoots, so it shouldn't be a problem hitting a residential area and waiting it out! :D

DO NOT SPEED AND DO NOT RUN IF YOU GET CAUGHT...
I'm guessing it was supposed to be joke but that's totally not funny nor appriciated here...
That is why people get bad names to scooters for stuff like that... You were a good guy and sucked up the ticket... $355 is a crock but it doesn't pay to speed...
with that being said... have a blast on your scooters just be legal or don't get caught... if you get caught.. stop and suck it up!

355$ wow im sorry
To tell the truth if I could out run a cop I would. Most cops wouldnt really put up a chase cause its not worth the danger. It would of been cool if he would of gave you a break cause you didnt run.

Definitely do not run, that's call eluding, and you most like get arrested for it. Your bike will be impounded and sold at auction. And if you do run t hat gives a cop more than enough probably cause, so running is the absolute dumbest thing you can do because he will certainly make it a point to go after you, radio dispatch and start a dragnet. If you think a cop won't start a chase out of being lazy then you're going to get a rude awakening that's what cops wait all day for, some action, and to do something. And making a collar on a suspect makes for certain he's going to get that 410 (cop term for commendation!)
I don't think I need to touch further since Jered and Len already have. Now on to the fine, $355 sounds high too, usually most states for a 10mph infraction is usually between $50-$100. (MD it's $70) Fines double in construction and school zones, though there is talk about a lot of states double fining in residential as well.

Geeze, I knew King would have a tough time with this one. But take it easy will ya! But the ticket was completely fair. I was actually goin 55mph in a 35mph zone, and it was near a city college. The thing is, it was 1 in the morning, no cars on the road, and bloddy freezing!!! I just wanted to get home ASAP! The officer was kinda snappy (chick po), but she ended up being cool. Another cop came for help and he was like "hey, thats a sweet scooter!" Haha, he was impressed that it could go 55mph!
As for running away, it was just a joke! You fellas needa lighten up a bit. Plus, a good chase story always brings life to a party :D !!!!

they had that discussion on yahoo one time...
No matter a ticket is a ticket... IMO $355 sucks but it happens...
Besides it was closer to 20 over instead of 10... which is more justified of the ticket...
I love living on base.. no fines... just points... 12 points in a 18 month period and your banned till they are cleared...
No dollar amounts though... so 35mph... and my test road is a dead end to a closed gate and the hospital.. so IMO 35=65 (if I can ever get there on my zuma...) I've only been about 55mph on it so far...

He was going 55 in a 35 not 55 in a 45. At 20mph over the limit, most states consider that reckless driving or reckless endangerment. That makes sense now why the fine was so high. My suggestion is to go to court, because at least there is a good chance they're knock off the points but you'll have to pay the fine. Paying the fine beats having the points.

355 sounds like a lot but here's the skinny on speeding in BC. He was doing 20 mph over or 32kph over, 30 km/h over is automatic excessive speeding. On the hwy they are a bit more lenient on excessive, but residential that can net a $368 ticket, in a school zone is automatic $196-253 ticket plus if you're excessively speeding add another $483 for good measure. In BC we have a graduated licensing program, basically you're on probation for 2.5 yrs while you're in the L and N period. The fines are even stiffer for those in GLP and on top of that there are annual point premiums, speeding is 3 points, you only get 3 free points a yr, the following 3 cost $300, the next 3 cost $340, the next 3 cost $620. That's 4 speeding tickets. Believe it or not, if you were to accrue 50 points in a yr, you'd owe ICBC $24,000 just in point premiums, technically tho if you get more than 10 points in a yr they'll pull you're license. So theoretically, for fun here, if you were to say speed excessively, instigate police pursuit, tear thru a school zone, then thru a construction site, over freshly painted lines, not obey the flag person, run multiple yellow and red lights, fail to yeild to pedestrians, and then onto the hwy into the left lane at only 75 kph it'd cost $2520 in violation fines, and a total of $10480 in point premiums. Apparently it pays to just pull over.
