I have a 2003 Vento triton 50cc two stroke scooter that I just upgraded to 70cc with the MHR kit and I upgraded the carb as well (21mm). Before I did the install is was having some running problems (the same it has now). Since then I installed a new 70cc kit and new carb and new variator. The problem is as follows:
When I start it, it idles fine. Then when I rev it a little it bogs down just before getting into high RPM's and hitting the power band. After this happens, it idles a little higher and the idle isnt as smooth.
I know this isn't a fuel mixuture problem or pipe or carb problem either. Would it be possible that there is a crankcase leak? My assumption/ hope is that it is the crank seal.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

same issues that were stated in this post.

idle is ok, but it will bog like hell when given gas.

You could do a leakdown test to see if you have air coming in or out. Or you could
spray wd-40 around the area to see if the RPM's climb.

ok, so I am confident now that i will be able to do a leakdown test. the last thing i'd like to know before i start is do i need to plug the intake and exhaust?
