can I take out the foam?

Would it be beneficial to take out the foam between the black plastic and the metal case in the kick starter area? Would it help reduce heat buildup? I don't think my engine has a heat problem, but I might be getting a stage 2 (skipping stage 1) soon. The "Sheave" area

you can take it off, it's better for cooling since it's not insulated anymore.

You can do it without any issues. What I would do is pull off the whole black plastic cover and just polish the metal one.
